Bob
So we here have a nice basic 3rd class pinback.
Eric Schena
Ah, the Order of Skanderbeg - this is one of my favorites. First up is a Pr?wema 1st class example made of some sort of anodized alloy:
Eric Schena
Here's a 2nd class with a concave reverse, also made by Pr?wema:
Eric Schena
...and another Pr?wema made example, but this time a later not as well made flatback. The tip off that these are made by Pr?wema is the pin assembly:
Eric Schena
...and last for now is a 3rd class screwback, also by Pr?wema:

Belaruski
The 'brooch pin is on an attached mount. Am i right in saying this is a type 2 variation 2 by Prawema? Edited January 15, 2007 by Belaruski
Eric Schena
Hi Belaruski:I didn't come across that pinback type until after I put the 2nd edition out. The third edition (which is still in the works) has the 1st class Skanderbeg varieties categorized thusly:Type 1: Screw back Var. 1: Made by IKOM Var. 2: Made by Mennica Państwowa (unreported)Var. 3: Made by Pr?wemaType 2: Pin back Var. 1: Made by Pr?wema, dished reverseVar. 2: Made by Pr?wema, flat reverse, simple integral pin assemblyVar. 3: Made by Pr?wema, flat reverse, attached pin assembly with closureVar. 4: Made in Albania (unreported)Under this classification, yours is a type 2 var 3. I hope that helps somewhat.Cheers,Eric

Bob
Visiting Volgograd/Stalingrad and the Stalingrad Panorama / Museum surprised me... a group of awards to - presumably - a VIP Soviet... WITH a 1st class Skanderbeg. Pics soon to follow.
Bob
We've seen a few (rare!) examples of Ikom screwback 3rd class Skanderbegs, which are numbered (and researchable *fingers crossed*).Finally I've managed to get my hands on a 2nd class one... not numbered, however very nicely cased! So, presumably a first class Ikom screwback type must then also exist somewhere out there. Probably very, very rare considering I've only seen 2-3 of these Ikom type screwbacks second class.

Eric Schena
That is a lovely example, Bob! I am green with envy at your ability to land such gems Are you able to get a cleaner shot of that case? It looks vaguely like the box you see for the IKOM produced Order of Liberty...
Bob
Will have a look when I'm home again. I thought I had specifically seen Skanderbeg 2nd class written on the box, but my eyes may have betrayed me.
Bob
Revisited the case and it essentially says on cover:OrderSkanderbegKl 2... so correct for this order (and custom fit on the inside)
