Eric Schena Posted June 19, 2006 Posted June 19, 2006 Here's a well worn example of the Medal of Liberation. This was the principle WW II campaign medal and carried a lot of prestige in a nation that held its partisan fighters in very high regard (Enver Hoxha himself was a partisan).
Gerd Becker Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 Here is mine. Its still in quite nice condition:
Belaruski Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 Here's mine.Originally I only wanted this one medal, as an example of the Albanian Partisans in my collection. But unfortunately I then read Mr. Schena's book, and now this is only the beginning...
Eric Schena Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 Hi Belaruski:It is indeed a slippery slope I hope you get as much satisfaction out of studying and collecting these decorations as I have.I suspect there are two different versions of this medal (a Soviet made one and a Yugoslav made one) but have not been able to pin that down...yet.Cheers,Eric
Bob Posted January 15, 2012 Author Posted January 15, 2012 Here's another one with a document. Awarded to Vita Mandi in 1946
Georg14 Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 Good Day, Gentlemen. Can anyone explain than these medals (on other not seen) very often are soiled with and how the metal can be cleaned with (acetone and other solvents does not help)? Aanyone faced with similar? Thanks. Posts #2,6. P.S. A couple of photos from the internet.
