ricky1972 Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 Hello all,This is the most beautiful award in my collection, and in my opinion one of the most beautiful awards of the Third Reich, along with the German Eagle Order...Hope you like it Kind regards,Ricardo
DanCz Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 I read somewhere that the Germans refer to it as "The Order of the Fried Egg"
Scott Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 ...or the "Party Badge for the Near-Sighted". Nice badge!Scott
DutchBoy Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 (edited) I agree that this is probably the nicest TR award after the Eagle Order. I"m surprised though that they didn't make these pieces out of silver but out of tombac...many countries' awards of comparable rank are made of silver. Edited July 7, 2006 by DutchBoy
DavidM Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 HelloA very nice Zimmerman I agree, these are easily the best looking of the Third Reich awards.
ricky1972 Posted July 8, 2006 Author Posted July 8, 2006 Thanks all for the nice words and the nicknames of this beautiful order! Cheers,Ricardo
Edgar Estrada Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 Nice pictures. Could someone please show me (picture), the Eagle Order? I have not idea about it.ThanksEdgar

Biber Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 I agree that this is probably the nicest TR award after the Eagle Order. ...Weren't Henry Ford and Charles Lindburg given the Eagle order? There's a new (or at least recent) that shows Ford receiving his. I wonder what ever happened to them? I know Anne Morrow Lindburg wasn't very fond od Charles'.B
deptfordboy Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 (edited) I can believe that Ford received it - he was an ardent Nazi. There is a fascinating account of Hitler's attempts to woo him full-time to the nazi cause in a long-forgotten 1930's book by Ludecke called 'I Knew Hitler'. Edgar Estrada Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 (edited) Take a good look, it?s titled Eagle Orders - top of the page 3 Holy cachucha Batman, now I saw all of it. I can not believe what my eyes just saw. That collection is not from this planet. There are so wonderfull awards there, it is incredible. However, in imo I still believe the most impresive and beatifull award is the Knight Cross of the Iron Cross (and more if it has the adds: oak leaves, swords, etc). But, that does not mean that the German Cross, etc are not beatifull. They are truly very beatifull as well. Thanks rickyEdgar Edited July 27, 2006 by Edgar Estrada
