Laurence Strong Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 (edited) NCO Candidate? might have this confused with officer candidate. Edited April 7, 2006 by Laurence Strong
Paul R Posted April 7, 2006 Author Posted April 7, 2006 ehrentitle,Thank you for your compliment! I bet you have some great stuff!Larry,Thank you for posting your insignia. Those boards are great! I believe that the Cheveron indicates longivity in the service. All branches wore this.RegardsPaul
ehrentitle Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 (edited) NCO Candidate? might have this confused with officer candidate. These are for the officer candidate school. The silver bar represents a first year student, two bars second year, and so on. Edited April 7, 2006 by ehrentitle
ehrentitle Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 Warrant Officer chevron? This chevron or winkle was worn on the sleeve of a short service soldier. Career soldiers wore two.
ehrentitle Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 Note that there are several interesting discussions on Stasi uniforms and items on the DDR section of the Wehrmacht Award board at:http://www.wehrmacht-awards.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=64

KGS Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 Hi KGS,Could you please post a close up of the ribbon bar on the tunic you have posted in post #15? RegardsPaulPaul,Uniform as long been sold. This was one of the last ones I bought from Bob Gowen in 1992. Ribbon bar isn't correct. Ribbons were a mix of NVA and Fire Fighter. Back then know one really knew what all the ribbons were. I gave $ 75 for the uniform with the ribbon bar, hat, shirt, tie, belt. And he told me it was all original.
Paul R Posted January 21, 2007 Author Posted January 21, 2007 Thanks for the reply! That Stassi bar is great!

Pants are dated 1960 !! Enjoy !!
olivyaya Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 Early 1970s tunic with specific MfS markings
