Chip Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 I assume that is the primer igniter pull-strap? Is this kit for the light MW or do the contents indicate that it could be used on the larger models?
Chris Boonzaier Posted August 5, 2012 Author Posted August 5, 2012 Hi, it is a drag strap. The loop of canvas (an ersatz material) is about 10cm wide. It may be a generic strap for MW and arty, LMW are not the only things that were dragged, and the hook is large for the drag rings on the LMW. It does fit, but not a perfect fit. I have seen LMW with larger rings where this WOULD fit perfectly. So, i am going with a Generic drag strap that could have been used on MW and Arty (Or ammo waggons?)
Chip Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 (edited) Holy cripes! It's much bigger than it looked in the original photo you posted. Now that I see this, I think I have a photo of it being used. Chip Edited August 12, 2012 by Chip
Chip Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 I think perhaps I should get even for all the suspenseful threads you have tantalized us with in the past! So let's wait a bit...... :D

Chris Boonzaier Posted December 6, 2012 Author Posted December 6, 2012 Super booklet! Muchos Grazias!
Hoss Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 (edited) Ah I know I find it here Chris Thank you for showing I adore the drag strap also, MG crews had quite a similar one with an adjustable buckle that differed from the sled/gun harness it was used to help in pulling the two wheeled cart. Regards Eric Edited December 7, 2012 by Hoss

The Prussian Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 (edited) Wonderful stuff!!!! I´ve never seen that before!!!!!! Here I have a nice MW Photo. Unfortunately I can´t recognize the number on the patch. SMW (schwere Minenwerfer), maybe a 36? Edited December 8, 2012 by The Prussian
