Gordon Williamson Posted April 8, 2006 Posted April 8, 2006 Absolutely superb photo. My two favourite naval subjects in one photo, IJN and KM U-Boats. Great to see the Submarine School Graduation Badge being worn
Monsun Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 Absolutely superb photo. My two favourite naval subjects in one photo, IJN and KM U-Boats. Great to see the Submarine School Graduation Badge being wornHello kunsho, Hello Gordon, the photo shows 3 crewmember of U 510, Cdr. Ritterkreuztr?ger Kapit?nleutnant Alfred Eick. The photo was made 1944 in Kobe/Japan. The men on the left are the "Maschinenobergefreite Willi Zink", in the middle "Funkobergefreiter Martin Wagner" and on the right was the "Maschinenobergefreite Heinz Guyens". Here are a monsunboat-foto from my collection. It shows another crewmember of U 510 with a rare "made in japan EK1"!

Warmest welcome to the most expierienced "monsun boat" collector I know in the western hemisphere :-)... originally I thought I can still post your beautiful pictures here and earn the collectors admiration alone... Monsun Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 (edited) Hello Matthias, yes you are right. Thank you for the big compliment "most expierienced monsun boat collector".Hello Gordon, nice photo! It shows on the left the chief engineer from U 532, Lieutenant Buggisch. I have another photo from him in my collection, together with two sumo-wrestler in japan. Edited April 12, 2006 by Monsun
Monsun Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 (edited) Here are the original japan made EK 1 from Lieutenant Buggisch, together with his uboat cap emblem from U 532. Last year I get this two rare pieces together with photos and documents directly from Mr. Buggisch. Edited April 12, 2006 by Monsun
Gordon Williamson Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 Great photo ! I guess the U-Boat guys had to visit the Sumo Wrestlers and not the other way, I can't imagine these Sumo squeezing through the hatch into the U-Boat Thanks for the ID on Buggisch, the Archiv identified the photo as from U-511.
Monsun Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 (edited) Back to the begining of the post "Share yours! - U-Boat Badge Winners Photo Collection":Here are one of the best photos in my collection. It shows a "Maschinenobermaat" from U 178 (yes, U 178 was also a monsun boat!) Edited April 12, 2006 by Monsun

Gordon Williamson Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 Back to the subject of the thread, U-Boat Badge Winners. The original print of this photo is so clear that it can be identified as an L/56 type F&BL badge being worn.
Gordon Williamson Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 And the guy at right here wears a Hymmen badge ( note the solid area around the eagle's neck)
Richard Sysum Posted April 14, 2006 Posted April 14, 2006 Hello Everyone This picture was taken at the commissioning of U116.Two for the price of one WW1 and WW2 u-boat badges being worn.Regards Richard
Monsun Posted April 14, 2006 Posted April 14, 2006 Hello, here are a rare photo from a u-boat men with u-boat and Infantry Assault Badge!
Gordon Williamson Posted April 15, 2006 Posted April 15, 2006 I'd say its pretty certain his is a Schwerin badge.
Gordon Williamson Posted April 15, 2006 Posted April 15, 2006 German Cross winner Hans Meier. The badge is amazingly clear on the original print, but is unfortunately a type which hasn't been attributed to a specific maker yet.
Gordon Williamson Posted April 15, 2006 Posted April 15, 2006 No U-Boat badge at this stage yet, but look what he does have One of several who entered the U-Bootwaffe after service in naval aviation.
Gordon Williamson Posted April 15, 2006 Posted April 15, 2006 And for service in an earlier time.Lothar Arnauld de la Periere
Monsun Posted April 15, 2006 Posted April 15, 2006 Nice photo from a unknown german cross winner with uboat- and auxillary cruiser badge!
