    Document question

    Recommended Posts

While many of my recent questions languish, I'll try one more.

    A document. What is it?

    Ed,

This is a first class driver's license. It authorizes him to operate vehicles (automobiles) with the exception of buses and ambulances.

    Regards,

Thanks "Slava". Part of this great stack of family documents I have just received. Think this is the same as the young man in some of the photos I have posted elsewhere. Guess we all age, eh?

    Ed,

    Doc

Wait until you see the remainder, Doc, just wait 'till you see the rest. But translationbs are (always) a problem. Why am I so illiterate! :banger:

Looks like he drove machine-gun cars during the (civil) war then drove (whatever) in Leningrad later on? Seems a pretty early driver's license.

Still figuring out what sort of name is "Strod" -- an odd name?

As developed in other threads, his wife got a Defense of Leningrad and his son became a submariner. Not a bad family saga?

    What I have is:

    Yevgeny Stanislavovich Strod

    Maria Alexandrovna Strod (his wife)

    Viktor Yevgenievich Strod (their son)

There may be others hiding in the heap of documents and photos.

    Family was from Leningrad.

Yevgeny Stanislavovich was in (presumably) automobile machine gun corps in the Civil War.

Viktor Yevgenievich was in navy in WWII and after (presumably submarines).
