Dr. Jones Posted November 3, 2006 Share Posted November 3, 2006 Hello fellow members,Just wanted to give a quick intro about myself. My name is Dan (Doctor Jones). I have been collecting militaria since I was in grade school. I served 4 years in the US Marine Corps as an Intel Specialist. I am now 33 years old, and the military collecting has only become worse...LOL! in 1993 I began to focus my efforts on Waffen-SS, specificly the 13th Handschar Division. Which was your Marine unit?Pity you missed Chris b.-he's on a plane to Cambodia over the Arabian desert at the mo-but he actually knew quite well a vet. officer of the Handschar. he has good stories.Do a search and you'll find some stuff. ostprussenmann_new Posted July 7, 2016 Share Posted July 7, 2016 I know this is an old post, but recently I aquired some 13th Waffen SS items from my second cousin while cleaning out her parents house after the death of her mother. I ended up getting a Grey-green Fez, EM/NCO Collar tab, the Croatian Sleeve Shield, and Edelweis. If anyone is interested in the photos of the items that I got, please let me know. She ended up sending about three packages of stuff, including a tunic for an Obershutze from 17th WSS PZGren Division. The tunic is battle worn and is currently getting restored by a person who restores stuff for the Smithsonian. It was missing the collar tabs and Sleeve eagle, so I had to pay for originals. All thread used is original and all insignia is also. I pick up the tunic on 30 July 16. I have another package coming in a month of some edged items including a HJ Knife.
