GreyC Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 Hi, here a little exotic photo by studio Sebah from the 1860s. Can anybody provide any details to uniform weapon etc? It´s absolutely off topic to my usual collecting. I bought it because the studio was quite famous. Thank you, GreyC
coldstream Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 Nice image, not my field of expertise at all but you should find the answer to identification on this site https://www.ottoman-uniforms.com/1860-till-1876-ottoman-army-uniforms/ Regards Simon
GreyC Posted October 3, 2017 Author Posted October 3, 2017 Thank you Simon, the Gentleman who runs this page has asked me for permission to exhibit my photo there. GreyC
Bayern Posted October 4, 2017 Posted October 4, 2017 The man in the photo wears a officer type jacket but carries a rifle and bayonet .and the percussion carbine , dont matches much with the bayonet .other strange item is the turban ,dark coloured . enfin , it appears to be a studied exotic portrait .
GreyC Posted October 4, 2017 Author Posted October 4, 2017 Thank you for your assessment, Bayern. GreyC
