    1. This is just a laymans observations as I have not studied Third Reich documentation. But I will give it a go. No SS type runes and slightly different type fonts (different type writer) The info has been misaligned (but I expect this is no real issue) in the boxes Date of birth has been misstyped No signatures The stamp looks to have slightly different font styles so a different stamp.
    2. Frightening set of fakes there ! Some real effort has gone into all of those documents. But considering the money that they would attract it is hardly surprising. Scary stuff.
    3. I merged this with a previous topic. Anyone have any opinions on the above badge (my one not Roberts) as no doubt Nicholas Morigi has produced this one at some point and I am now more than a little suspicious of it.
    4. I am a little lost with the variations of this badge anyone got anymore to clear thinsg up for me ?
    5. By the way they are all on display at Apsley House in London, (tucked away in the basement) well worth a visit !
    6. A couple of more he was awarded: Baden: Grand Cross of The Order of Fidelity (1810) Bavaria: Knight of the Order of Saint Hubert
    7. As we have such a good thread going on Bonaparte's awards how about listing the Iron Dukes Awards?
    8. Don Its certainly looking that way Peter thanks for the comparison photo. There seems to be a few identical attributes, the pins look very similar(50mm) also yours seems to have the same manufacturing marks at the 2 o'clock position on the outer edge. I am a little concerned by the fact mine does not have cut outs as all my reference pictures do. Also the lettering on the reverse is raised but is very faint especially at the top where it is unreadable. What I can make out is the words 'PLACZEK BERLIN' and on the bottom line 'JUNKER BERLIN'. It is laquered in a dark bronze wash. It does feel right......... but ???
    9. Please reassure me that neither of these sellers are serious and this is all for fun
    10. The eagle looks very similar to the eagle on Don's triangle badge picture as does the colouring of the enamel. I do not like the sunwheel swastika in the national flag either should not be used in that form as well as the fact it is the wrong angle. Not good in my limited opinion and another fake/fantasy item?
    11. A warm welcome to Gerd who is now assisting Rick in hosting the Soviet Section
    12. The photo was taken at the Heeresgeschichtliches Museum in Vienna. A MUST for any Imperialists just set aside the day as there is a LOT to see !
    13. Just would like to welcome Jeff as the New Club Host for this section. Jeff brings a wealth of experience with him and is very much a welcome addition to the GMIC team !
    14. Don Thanks my gut feeling was it was a fantasy piece. It was similar to first one being triangular in shape and having a similar if not identical lettering, but the eagle, style coloring and enamelling were identical to the second badge so I would almost guarantee that the second is from the same producer and is also fantasy.
    15. I saw from a distance the other day an enamel badge which purported to be some kind of German-Japanese good relations tinnie. It was dated 1939, was enamelled and had the two nations flags on the top front. It looked a fantasy piece to me, although I did not get the opportunity to examine it or photo it. Anyone know anything about this ?
    16. Cheers Stan for adding those photos some great shots of some rare pieces.
    17. The tinnie on the picture above looks like the 1929 Nurnberg Rally Tinnie ?:
    18. It has got a few pages on the Colonial Awards. It is not a bad book considering there is so little out there. But potentially it could have been so much better. Lets hope for a new edition.
