    1. Woah too many posts, didn't even realized I logged in after good 5 years Sahi, it's a nice thought however getting hold of a unnamed videsh Seva Medal will be difficult as maximum number of times they are awarded via regiments and many a times quarter masters are in charge of naming them, since you are serving in armed forces you may find one of you have good connects. Raksha Medal medal is tricky, let me see if I have any in spare I do remember picking a lot of 20 from Chennai based dealer.
    2. HI Ehjaz we are waiting for the scan, I have contacted a source in pakistan but he is not aware of existence of any such clasp.
    3. I recently came across an Air Crew Europe Star at ebay which is named to Corporal G. Wilson of the Royal Canadian Air Force. it looks pretty ok to me however I am kind of confused with the details on the medal as naming looks ok to me (Boots naming?) but its inscription says he was born on the 5.2.1921 and died on the 14.11.1943. Although I primarily collect Indian post 1947 medals this one caught my attention I have placed my bid but not too sure if it’s genuine or not but it is worth a try. Any opinions on this star?
    4. I have one named to IC-337 Lt. CE James 8 Punjab Regt, and I am looking for some info on him I will appriciate if anyone can help me to research this officer. Thanks
    5. Tailor copies are easy to spot, usually medals are made from individual suppiers so difference is common however if you check the regimental numbers and deployment details then may be you can validate if the group is authentic or not. there is a possibility of Defence Sports Organisation as well which maintians ASPT (Army School of Physical Training), they have 2 big estabilshments in pune
    6. Can you please post some pictures of the group.
    7. you are very welcome :)
    8. Medals and Decorations of Independent INDIA by Rana T.S. Chinna and Edward S. Haynes is the best source of information on post 47 medals check it.
    9. Hi Hesy68, any update on this star ???????
    10. Of course it is not a Indian award. Need to check for someone who know Nepali language.
    11. Great star. I suspect this to be associated to Kingdom of Nepal as the inscription says वीर ता (bravery) but it is not in Devnagri (Hindi). Might be some kind of bravery award
    12. Hi William, Thanks for the info. I have a question ;- if it is a tailor copy the naming of this medal was pretty much similar to originals which i have, I have checked with a service men and he did confirmed that this pattern of naming is pretty much authentic. I have checked with a uniform and army material supplier and he says even he have never heard of any armymen awarded any such clasp, though he did mentioned that it can be a navy only clasp but hard luck I am not able to get hold anyone from INDIAN NAVY. Need your valuable input on naming bit. Amit
    13. Hi Rob, Is Andaman and Nicobar a air force only clas ? Regards Amit

    18. Hi All, I have added this medal in my collection it looks like a tailor copy or a replica (not too sure). Most unusual is the clasp which is for service in Lakshyadeep and minicoy (लक्ष्यदीप अवम मिनिकॉय), I need help from veteran collectors to check if there is any such medal issued by Ministry of defence or Government of India. This specimen is named to 175898 H. S. Kumar POR SPL IN (unable to figure out the details of this unit either) Appreciate any information on this medal * will add the pictures ASAP Thanks Amit
    19. Thanks all for giving insight, However I am still confused why the value of the medal will be reduced by 40% if it is for person who was killed in action as it was in most of the cases. However I have come across 2 mutiny medals which were pin mounted and indeed it did a great deal of damage. Does any one have any picture of family member of KIA wearing brooched or pin mounted medal.
    20. Hi, I found this on internet a couple of days ago it was a auction for MONS Star turned into a brooch. To my understanding it was a practice followed for mutiny medals way back in 1857. Although I didn’t win the auction, I would like to know if it’s a common practice followed for causalities of war. This medal was named to 43383 DVR F PRITCHARD R.F.A. Thanks Amit
    21. Hi Brian, that is a good one. I am also looking for one if you don/t mind can you please let me know the source (if thats ok) so that i can check if i can get one for me Thanks Amit
