    1. Hello, yesterday I get this two pieces. A celleon officer chest eagle and a cockade/thread in metal. What do you think? Good or bad? Is the metal cockade/thread especially for the NCO Cap? And was the chest eagle ok for a late (1943) KM officer jacket? Any oppinions are welcome. Thanks, monsun

    5. Hello Hinrik, sorry, but I didn?t have a wartime photo that shows the word "Tauchretter" on the front. I have a few that shows u-boatcrews with tauchretters, but without inscription. But here are a photo from a original WW2 tauchretter from the collection of the u-boatarchive in cuxhaven. The letters "bwz" are the german WW2 manufacturing code for "Auer-Gesellschaft A.G., Berlin-Werk Oranienburg". I hope it helps.
    6. Hi Edgar, here are one from my collection. It was taken on board of U 290.
    7. divingsuit on board of U 203, Kapitänleutnant Rolf Mützelburg (with the white cap)
    8. Hello together, today I will show you a very rare U-boat divingsuit from my collection. It was only used from U-boat crews. Every german U-boat had one divingsuit on board. Please note the marking "Kleintauchgerät" on the Tauchretter. This marking was the only different to the normal U-boat Tauchretter. The Tauchretter was made for rescue from a sunken U-boat, the divingsuit was made for repair outside the U-boat.
    9. Kapit?nleutnant Alfred Eick
    10. Hello Michel, very nice find! Here are a rare photo from the first german "Tauchretter" from WW1!
    11. Hello, here are the same document for the uboat ace Kapit?nleutnant Alfred Eick! Alfred Eick began his naval career in April 1937. Later he served for more than a year on the destroyer Richard Beitzen, and he undertook 16 patrols in the first year of the war. I think 16 patrols with RB are enough to get the award! In November 1940 he transferred to the U-boat force, where he accompanied U-176 on her first two patrols. In May 1943 he became commander of U-510. After a successful patrol in Brazilian waters, U-510 left Lorient on her second patrol assigned as one of the Monsun boats. Eick operated for a few months in the Indian Ocean before heading back in January 1945 with a load of important goods (tin, quinine, etc.) on board. After being supplied with oil southeast of Madagascar by Krvkpt. Oestens U-861 (who was short of fuel herself), U-510 ran out of fuel in the North Atlantic, but managed to reach the U-boat base at St. Nazaire in France at the end of April 1945 (at that time the base was still in German hands). Alfred Eick was in French captivity from May 1945 to July 1947. He then studied business management at the University of Hamburg and worked later as a tax adviser.

It shows on the left the chief engineer from U 532, Lieutenant Buggisch. I have another photo from him in my collection, together with two sumo-wrestler in japan.
    17. Hello kunsho, Hello Gordon, the photo shows 3 crewmember of U 510, Cdr. Ritterkreuztr?ger Kapit?nleutnant Alfred Eick. The photo was made 1944 in Kobe/Japan. The men on the left are the "Maschinenobergefreite Willi Zink", in the middle "Funkobergefreiter Martin Wagner" and on the right was the "Maschinenobergefreite Heinz Guyens". Here are a monsunboat-foto from my collection. It shows another crewmember of U 510 with a rare "made in japan EK1"!
