    1. By first quick read I understood "Shagged for under 50-100 bucks" :-( Sure, go ahead, open the thread... I would be interested to see other folks deals...
    2. Hi, thanks, If it was also used by Infantry, its fine for me:-) No visable stabps on the leather...
    3. I picked this up for a song and a dance... I was told it was Pionier, but I assume it is simply late war?
    4. Very Nice! Mine is from an officer who transfered to a "gibralter" regiment in 1917 and was wounded soon after. I assume at the time Bullion was a luxuary that was not widely availible. I wonder what such a Bullion would go for ???
    5. This is the book.... http://www.amazon.de/Freiwillige-vom-Kaukasus-Tschetschenen-Sonderverband/dp/3702009841/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1431860839&sr=1-2&keywords=Walter%2C+Fritz
    6. Hi, Trevor informs me that these Deumer are pretty normal WW1 pieces, must have seen a lot of service, I am guessing WW1 era otherwise he would have had his post WW1 unit engraved.... the officer in Question also served in WW2, but of course a totally different unit.
    7. Nice, they upgraded him to a Silver wound when the severity of wounds was taken into consideration as opposed only to the number of wounds.
    8. I am closing this thread and hiding some of the more silly comments. 1 or two of mine included just to be fair. If anyone is not happy with that... please feel free to leave.
    9. Hi Kay, Try contacting the guy by PM, as he has made his last post on this thread.
    10. If the poster does not bother to translate the relevant parts... I assume there are none ;-)
    11. There is no logical reason why the Saudi Medal is not mounted, and the one with the group never was. The things were handed out, and by the next Parade or Guard you HAD to have it mounted. No questions, no excuses. It is possible that he was transfered to Djibouti or Guyane and missed UNPROFOR, but my gut feeling says this was a bar of 6 awarded to a Support unit and that the bars on the Defence National were changed to sexy it up. Maybe the original bar on the DN was "Soutien des forces aériennes" or "Service des essences" where a "Moyen Orient" without the Gulf war bars was possible... and that was removed and the Legion bar added. Sorry, I am not an Expert, but for Legion bars 1990-95 I think I have a very good feeling for kosher, nor kosher... End of 94 you should see a bit of wear on the medals... and the Kuwaiti medal was not yet awarded, just the Saudi.... check the condition on the top bar, all the medals brand new.... Check out the condition here.... this is "Normal wear", the finish to the Outre Mer and DN suffer pretty fast... the ones on the top bar are fresh out of the box...
