    1. EUR122.... thats EUR22 for the Militärpass.... and EUR100 worth of egg in the buyers face :-(
    2. It is worth pointing out that not everyone who had done MG training was the main man... for every Richtschutz there were half a dozen carriers... easily replacable, and worth less than a trained signaller.
    3. Maybe someone will snipe it for Silly money. I think the auction is worth what the Militärpass is worth. Best Chris
    4. Thats possible. Morse code is indeed a more difficult and longer training than MG. I am guessing he was not kicked out, but rather they chose where he could do his most valuable contribuion.
    5. If it was good, I think it would bring over EUR300... but I am pretty sure this is a dud...
    6. Hi, I am not sure what the date of the latest Bundes award is... but no matter what the date... it is the info that counts!! Best Chris
    7. "Can't forget it no import US no no with ATF for a start looking." Hey! being you learn also not english language?? ;-) The problem is... if the Bolt is ground and barrel drilled and plugged ala Europe, it is still a nice toy.... but to send it to the states you have to cut a side plate.... then there is not very much left methinks....
    8. I have been following this auction with interest.... For some reason my little voice is saying the document is fake. A fake doc added to a real Militärpass.... http://www.ebay.de/itm/Seltene-Urkunde-Eisernes-Kreuz-Maschinen-Gewehr-Kompanie-/271371355993?pt=Militaria&hash=item3f2efe4759 If you ask me why, i cannot tell you... just gut feeling... what do you guys think?
    9. Can you buy canadian Deact's from the states? I thought the Canadian and US way of doing it was so different?!?
    10. A group to a (gulp!) Artillery officer with a strong Verdun connection. He was also within small arms range of the last US soldier killed at 10:59am on the last day of the war..
    11. Of course, the Verdun ones grabbed my eye.... very small unit, so extremely difficult to find....
    12. There are simply too many different ones for me to collect, but I have grabbed the odd one over the years...
    13. I am guessing a pre war officer, transfered at some stage from 80th to 2nd RI, wounded sometime between October 1916- April 1917, Never makes it back to the front and is no longer in service when the Victory and war medals were issued ?
    14. He has the threads for 3 medals on his chest, on both the tunic and great coat.... but the tunic has the wound, victory and war medal strangely sewn on the side... almost as if he just added them waaaay later... and not in a military way... so maybe he was no longer serving at that stage....
    15. This is some musing about the following set... http://gmic.co.uk/index.php/topic/61459-french-commandantchef-de-bataillon/?p=578783 It is a commandant, traces and tailoring show he was originally in the 80th infantry Regiment... but seems to have transfered to the 2nd during the war. - The 3 Stripes on the upper arm - two together, then a third added... seem to point to him having 18 months service when they were introduced in April 1916, and then getting two in one go.... then getting a third maybe in October 1916 for another 6 months.... but not being around for a fourth one which would have been due in April 1917.... so maybe wounded and no longer fit for service at the front...
