Would the buttons fit on the collar of a baden jacket? http://gmic.co.uk/index.php/topic/51954-fantastic-half-a-jacket/

Not a GREAT unit, but kinda scarce as they only existed from early 1917.... Am i right in thinking these are the collar rank buttons?

A quick question... does anyone have a pair of the Collar buttons a baden NCO would have worn? or would Prussian be OK?

I thought it may be interesting to see what personal items there are... non issue stuff of a military nature soldiers may have had in their pockets, bags etc....

Hi, no 100% evedence, just suposition... I think it is a pic done on the award day. The notation on the back "Gefr. Scherer 24/9/18" and the cross is hanging a bit crooked, as if the loops are not yet one... and who poses for a photo (I assume not for his wife) holding a folded up document? and who notates his or a friends photo as "Gefr. Scherer" ? I may of course be wrong, but for me they seem like little things that add up. best Chris

The Benoit one is a very unusual one, he seems to have beena liason Agent/Messenger attacheed to the British officer responsible for the protection of Monumants and works of art. He carried out the duties through Heavy Bombardment. I would be really curious waht the Legraverend one says, but it does not open up big enough to read the citation. best Chris

Hi, the problem when I merge threads is all posts get added chronologically.... and mixed up into a "greater thread"... but you cannot see which comment belonged to which item etc. etc. etc...
