    1. What is interesting to the above award are the statutes in which it says the award can be taken back if the recipient ever shows he is unworthy in any way..
    2. Does anyone know how many of these in Silver were awardesd?
    3. Of course, the 2 EK docs are what attracted me, especially the other ranks EK1
    4. Have a soft spot for the 88 IR... either these are pre war boards... or from the RIR88... by the outbreak of the war the 88 IR no longer had numbers. I think somewhere along the line someone did a bad repair to the back of one...
    5. Just a thought... because this goes over and above just this item.... Someone tossing in a statement "I am willing to pay 15 000" for this does not make it worth 15 000. It is what it is worth to you, plain and simple.... if the next one came on the market and the next potential buyer would only pay 10 000... then it would then be worth 10 000? And if 3 weeks later someone would pay 20 000 ... it is then worth 20 000? What one person is willing to pay for an item that rare is not market value. We have seen rare things go on ebay for 1 200 one week... then 600 the next.... has little to do with market value. Art, dont know you from a hole in the ground.... you could even be the original owner trying to push the price for all I know... so I respect your right to quote 15 000 as the value... but you have to respect my right to think "Yeah... whatever..." For me you need a bit more street cred here to go around setting market values...
    6. Guys... I dont give a crp about Becher... or about arguments... so I suggest everyone edit their posts to a friendly tone or I will flush all posts made after the time this post went to sleep a few years ago...
    7. Hi, he was a shipd Doctor and recieved it in 39 when the ship got back from a mission. They were in enemy waters, but did not come under fire. He was later wounded on the way to Narvik. Best Crius
    8. There were a couple of pairs of these and a cuff titel. Unfortunately all split up...
    9. The problem is... a market price is not set by what 2 guys with a bit of extra cash in their pockets are prepared to pay on day X. I have seen a few guys fall on their faces when they see something sell on ebay for silly money... who then think "i have one of those!" and toss theirs onto ebay... and get a 3rd of the price... Think "Housing bubbel"
    10. I think as said above, there must be huge gaps in the numbering, depending what series of numbers (rifles) were delivered. Best Chris
    11. Hi, Sorry, did not know YOU were the buyer... I dont say the things are bad... but I would make sure to see all the pros and cons best Chris
    12. I dont doubt that... if its real. For some reason I think, if the price was only 5000... then many serious bidders had doubts. What is the provenance? Becuase the stamping is different to known fakes, does not make it automatically real. How do we know that drawing is real... as opposed to done by a good artist and make to look old? I am neutral on this, but would not accept it just like that...
    13. P.S. I think it was Ailsby who knew an SS Officer who was given a bag of them to hand out in 45... or does my memory fail me there?
    14. So what do you think it is? Original... or finally a copy made to the specs of the drawing? What is the origin of the piece? Best Chris
    15. One of my ex NCOs lives in Thailand... on his forum he has a fantastic selection of photos of the Thai Army, including a number taken by him... http://www.forumthailandeinfo.com/index.php?topic=31.0 Enjoy! Best Chris
