"The Welch Regiment one, post # 1, 5th from left bottom row is post c1922, the spelling was ?Welsh? prior to then." That would seem to fit, when I told the seller that I thought it was stuff from an allied soldier not a German because the Germans were never in Cairo he said it was from a German POW who was in camps in North Africa until the early 1920s. Any idea how long the last POWs were kept? -

Hi, from the text I would say french.... but did they wear that headgear? On the back are mountains... but the chasseur Alpin wore totally different headgear...
