    1. Also rare is the ammo box. Actually for the 1915 grenades, but these were used with the 1916 mortar as well. The label from the inside of the box as well....
    2. The model 16 Granatwerfer... So far no base plate, but it is a damned good start!
    3. Hi, there are a number of Roll guys here.... but there are many, many rolls that may not be covered. I hope one of our guys can lend a hand. best Chris
    4. Hi, A member kindly provided me the following info... On the third of November 1918 he received the Milit?r Max Josephs Order for his deeds in Aisne. On 6.November 1918 he received his Adelsbrief ,his emblem in the Adelsbrief was a turtle surrounded from 7 Grenades(stands for the 7 tanks he has destroyed). From this point he was called Friedrich Ritter von Ibach. He died on 25.May 1968 in Schwabach/Mittelfranken. In ww2 he was the kommandeur of a POW Camp for Russian POWs in Weissenburg(Lager W?lzburg) my hometown. He was not accused for any war crimes and the Russians which have survived this dark Era only talked good about him, some of the Russian survivors meet in my hometwn in the early 90ies. Thanks to Andreas :-))))
    5. For the Inf and Arty i use R?hmeshalle as a starting point, it will point you to the right division... then in 251 divs you can follow them through the transfers.... I echo Charles.... there is an index ?!?!?!
    6. Here you go... the details.... From the back not a perfect match....
    7. Well... A new turn..... he DID serve in WW2 but in an Armierungs Bataillon... I assume he was not in good health.
    8. The up side is.... how often do you find Brit medals that were mounted by the recipient ? :-)
    9. Somewhere I have a book with a whole bunch of different ones of these... remind me in a week or so when I get back and I will look. Best Chris
    10. what a load of w ank. Paid my GBP3.50... all the info on the card tells us no more than are on the medal, other than the medal was on roll B101B10 page 794. There are no dates, battalion or theater entered.... is this an Irish Joke???????? I knew I should never have started with the bluidy things :-(
    11. This group has been discussed here before. It was on one of the Imperial forums. Nice find and congratulations!!! Best Chris
    12. How do I go about getting the medal card to my guy? Thanks Chris
    13. For part 1) Good fakes DO look genuine. With these stars looking 100% genuine is not enough to win a prize part 2) If you want them for yourself and you got them out of the woodwork, good for you. A regular buyer would ask what the NSDAP stamp is doing on there, question a bit the quality of the badge and why they look to be made by the same person on the same cloth, but have 2 different languages and the one has a bogus stamp and the other not? Sometimes when it comes to "iffy" objects, it is a question of belief. I would see these at a show and think "Yeah right....." and move on. If you are happy with them, fine, but as you posted them I assume some opinions and chit chat are what is called for. Best Chris
    14. I have an old 640u.... It is a 2 stroke, but I polished up the chrome and the chicks just stare in astonishment when they see what it can do to a zink badge. I have pulled more birds with it once they saw what it can do to gilt an enamel than I ever did with my old Canon scanner.... <:-)
    15. I would think the stamps on the back are more than suspect?
    16. A really nice piece indeed... and the condition/finish is spectacular. Nice find! Sometimes I see things like this laying there unloved and unwanted on US ebay. Best Chris
    17. Are we not the most geeky group of laddies you ever have seen? We sit around and brag about our Epsons as if they were muscle cars... I think we should form a club. "MC Epsonfans"... if we shorten "Militaria collector" to "MC" folks will think we are bikers and leave us alone :-) What will we do if Epson stops making our favourite toys???? There is no substitute!
    18. Oberleutnant Otto Wachter commanded the 16th Bavarian Minenwerfer company from 1916 to about the end of the war. Does anyone have any other info by any small chance? Thanks Chris
    19. Hi, I think he had just 3 actions for the GAB and there were 4-5 for the Grounf Cbt. With a time interval between the two. When he got the GAB they were attached to an army division.
    20. Hi, I have a denazified one he wore at the end of 1945, beginning 46, it has no backing plate or cloth, so it may be easier to tell. They do have a bit of corrosion so I always thought zink? But that is just a wild guess. Will try and find the other one today sometime. best Chris
    21. I would like to point out.... I took a random Ehrenkreutz document here... not one selected for a nice name... Imagine all that is hidden behind those signatures!!!!! On all those neglected docs !!!!!!!!!!!!!
