    1. Impossible to look at these with flashes of black and white movies in the back of your head... squadrons scrambling, blazing guns, plane crashes in the English channel etc. etc.
    2. Unrelated to Mongolian awards, but when in the Army I recieved 3 numbered awards (Regimental) where I know for a fact that no records were kept as to who got what. I assume they figured we would appreciate numbered awards more and that the maker did not charge any extra for this. Just a thought to numbered items.... the "real" items from way above were numbered, but the lower ones were just numbered without the numbering actually being used.
    3. Puh! Thats no big deal.... Rick knows.... because he IS that little person.. bottom right in the photo !!!!
    4. I think when the forum was new... everyone rushed to post their goodies. now settled in for the longrun it will be slooow and hopefully steady. Folks cannot post the same stuff once a week to keep up traffic. Its a bit like woman... you get more "uhum" from them in the first few moths than you do over the next few years... but what the hell, its still nice to have someone who washesyour socks in the long run.
    5. All very, very nice stuff indeed !!!! Here is a modern version of the collection... http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=13849
    6. I found this in Loas... although the style is described elswhere as "Indochine", "Siamese" or Vietnamese. I assume it is Generic. It is 55cm long and the collar on it seems to be brass.
    7. Can anyone tell if this is Pre-communist or madern? It is a flattened belt buckle.
    8. Any idea if this is Airforce or from Thai Airways? Thanks Chrs
    9. ... a nice signature.... does anyone know where he served and have any idea what he did? I assume with a Vorpostenboot he may have got it for something while under attack from allied aircraft...
    10. more by coincidence than by design.... I only realised it when I had it....
    11. Googling him shows him as a post was Dr. writing articles about history and industry in the Saarland. The seller lived in the Saarland as well....
    12. I think just one... a fast thinking copper pointed me towards the Auction... it was to end 3 weeks before I would be back from holiday... so no chance. i did a dirty and contacted the seller to pull it and sell it to me for a wad of cash.... dirty move, but I would have knifed half the denizens of the average militaria show in a back alley to get this.... so me be OK with my bad conscience ;-) Maybe someone had copied a pic from the auction to another place to ask a question.
    13. Laos had more bombs dropped on it than any other country in the world.... no wonder this is almost a "standard" laos ashtray-flowerpot holder....
    14. The sleeping quaters and artificial leg of one of the men working at the museum.
    15. No idea what this one is....
    16. A small private museum from a deminer...

    18. Anyone seen one of these before ??
    19. I think this is for the non active participants in the indochina war? Top bar is missing on it.
    20. I think it is actually for cival servants and maybe more comman than the Viverpool medals price reflects.
    21. Cambodia seems to have had about 6 major projects medals, this was for the construction of the port at Sihanoukville.
