    1. Those rimmed rounds look veeeeery much like 303.... can there be a bit of a mix up here? Could it be that the 303 rounds had mauserlike stripper clips before the ones we know from WW1 and 2?
    2. If there had been an ounce of originality there... they would have determined the class of the medal by having him jump over one log on the lowest grade, and 3 on the highest ;-)
    3. Hi, although officialy the "Boer Mauser" was in the majority... there were countless other rifles in use. Towards the end of the war, it was used less and less as ammunition became a problem. best Chris
    4. A really nice looking piece. I would like to be able to have things like that... but in the back of my mind I would always see then falling in slow motion.... :-(
    5. I see the reverse... but not the side for QEIIs head.... I am burning to see the Head:crown ratio....
    6. I dunno, the Texas Cavalry one has potential. What I like about them is that they break away from "round with a usualyy bad design on it"...
    7. Strangely, the .de does not have the German records!!! You need the .com (At least, so I am told)
    8. I have my wifes Grandmothers stuff "HG" for Hannah Günther.... One day Charlie Snyder will sell it as Hermann Görings for me... :-)
    9. Magic Dave! Thanks! I assume that after his basic training he joined the Feld Rekruten, the Alpenkorps was in Lothringen at the time. They may have been up to strength, or it was jusdged that the new guys were not ready enough for the Offensive, and that the replacements only joined the Battalions after Kemmel and Armentiers when they needed replacemtns... It is indeed an unusually long time.........
    10. Looks OK, would really be intzerested to know of the writing on the wreath is readable?
    11. Just looking at a KVK2, you are right, probably not. I thought they be the last traces of the details of the back side. But right on the catch,
    12. Could that be a KVK2, the back filed flat, silvered, and turned into a KVK1 ??
    13. Must cost a bit of money having 2 different sets of medals, one state, one active. Nice looking medals though, the Federal got could learn something there....
    14. I hate you, oh yes I do I dont hate anyone as much as you And if you find more just like this you will get anooother 'dis
    15. I suppose if you have one of these, it can only be worn on a Texas uniform and not on a US Army uniform? best Chris
    16. I have a huge amount ot "EK" paper... ""The warriors dream" and "The brave soldiers highest reward...
    17. Some photos are rare gems, some just comman stuff.. Are these "good ones" or really mass produced ones? Thanks Chris
