    1. And it looks exactly like the cheesy, embarrassing case someone tucked a real nevsky into about a week ago, right down to the tassle........
    2. Your Oesterreich Kriegserrinerungsmedaille is simply the common WW1 Austrian Commemorative Service medal... Let me know if you still need a pix! ;>)
    3. I am really enjoying this thread.... the more I look at Steve's Mecklenburg Bar, the more I realize just how hard that is to find!!
    4. Nice group Rick. Nice friends who share this "egg" with you!!
    5. Bizarre part is I actually like the quality of this one. First one in forever. despite the fuzzy scans, it actually looks legit. My question would be legit from when? 1920's? 1930's?, 1970's?
    6. That is interesting to see the Romanov style eagle....... perhaps simply playing off their own history?
    7. Here's a few more of my Mongolian Badges. I bought them on a whim!
    8. Here's a bizarre variation that is unlike any others I have seen. 1950's??
    9. David's last post shows typical 1935-45 pin, hinge, catch as seen on WW2 made EK1's and a few similar items.
    10. David, that is one of the finest and most significant photographs I have seen in a very long time.... Thanks!
    11. I have seen a tremendous number of rough, beat-up items over the years, but this one was the "prize". I'm still astounded every time I look at these photos!
    12. Interesting that the cloverleaf trademark would eventually be scooped up by Bruno Schneider in Wien, Austria.... I wonder how late Werner used this very similar mark?
    13. Hi Paul, I can't imagine trying..... everything here is pretty easy to find for original ribbons as well as pieces in much better condition. It would be cheaper to just buy the awards rather than restore this one. Why sink all that extra dough into fixing relatively "common" pieces. The only exception would be if they were family pieces with deep sentimental value.... and even then I would have multiple fotos to show what once was....
    14. Well, given the absolute rubbish-like quality of the issue TWM, I suppose that's possible. But I would argue that this style pin is a post WW1 example for sure, more , like 1930's, IMO. So that doesn't fit with a war-time issue theory..... I've passed on many of these, afraid to even go there....
