    1. Recce Corps (Dubious because it has lugs instead of a slider ?) 15/19 H
    2. In no real order Ralph here's a few more common ones, with the exception of this Kettering Vol badge.
    3. A Canadian AAC cap badge with the 'square' lugs. Thats all for now
    4. Another one where variations are a plenty, this many spokes, void or not, valves etc......I have one or two knocking around in the attic.
    5. Some say good some say bad on this as it's a thin horse ???
    6. This how I started collecting with these 13th Lancer's (Victorian)
    7. Those are a wonderful pair Prosper ! That Crois de Geurre is amazing, I've only ever seen the more modern style boxes for French awards. Belgian awards, are two a penny in boxes, but older period French boxes......forget finding them in the UK !!! Here's my little set.......nothing special though. Kr Marcus
    8. Darrel thats not a S&L though is it, thats a 100 isn't it buddy ? I've only seen the Mothers Cross being made and going through the stages via pic's, it's nice to see the EK and the steps taken. I'm sure they were quick smart about it, but it seems a long old process, I'm sure there were heaters in the spraying booth etc Out of interest Gordon do you have any idea on the production daily or weekly and how many people they employed ? There just one thing wrong with the pic's, theres no pic of the guy popping them in tissue and envelopes Typical, the most important procedure missing Kr Marcus
    9. You can do better for your money Sal, it's an odd one this box.....I've been looking and looking at this darn thing, I can't honestly say with conviction either way on it. Stick with your Spanish Crosses mate. Are your intentions to return it ? Send Sam my love, and I'm already saving up for next year it's going to be a DK next year I think ! In silver touch wood and cross fingers and legs. Kr Marcus
    10. Well Sal, to be honest this catch dosen't conform to the usual fake catch, it's a broad stem and has a rounded head..which to all intents and purpose's is a very good sign. If by chance this is a good case, thats a different outer covering you have there to several known and what I own examples !! It's a shame about the scuffing, it almost looks intentionaly done ? Who knows though ? Have you tried with care, to lift up the base, just the upper portion of the insert.....I wonder if this could be a KB box, it can't be a D&B they use an inset for other boxes as a stand insert in these boxes. Kr Marcus
    11. Ricky & Kurt, I replied yesterday to this but due to the forum going the posts have gone 'walkabout.' In regards to the red 'cloud' box, I don't truely adhere to this being a period manufacture generic box. They come in two colours these 'sorts' as in this thread, red and green and are at best dubious, in my opinon that is. I don't think they are modern made boxes, perhaps they were never intended to decieve, but not TR period boxes. Maybe 1960's earlier or later ? God knows ? True, there is a multitude of generic boxes, in all shapes and sizes......none of which are set in stone or subscribe to any form of criteria. However, of all the examples I've encountered and own now, none react to black light. These red or green boxes do ? It is true to vouch that it possible to have a TR era piece that semi glows as such, or indeed just 'glows'; but considering the availability and frequent times these boxes are paired with fakes......which is numerous times and these boxes and plentiful in their hundreds !!! Every show in Germany, full of these boxes and full of fakes.....all the predominent fake seller have them, of awards and specifically packets and boxes (i.e Stuttgart two years running) None of the main dealers or other dealers of repute ( uuummm kind of off) touch these boxes either. I really do have cause to deliberate their authenticity. I can't at this moment in time base a thing on a premise, but I'd be cautious of them if honest. I'm not saying whats right or wrong.......I'm just throwing in my opinion, it has holes, which I'm aware of so perhaps in the next few months another item for testing at the lab. Kr Marcus Anyway here's a couple of boxed items......Ricky you'll recognise the Aux, this cheeky little monkey came from you !! This pic dosen't do it justice.
    12. I replied yesterday Sal, but as the forum went down all my posts have gone missing along with all the others whom posted. I'm not overly keen on the outer covering on this example, the inside looks fair, but I'd heed caution on this one and I'm more than dubious. I need a frontal catch pic.
    13. A finished product Strange to think this cross went through the above procedure.
    14. Sal, I'm not to happy with the look of this box, can you show me the catch please. Kr Marcus
    15. Bob, this being a Brit specific forum the American medals would probably be best discussed in the American forum perhaps We know you guys where there Kr Marcus
