    1. Jan Arne my friend, I think I'd rather the double marked one than an L/12 at the end of the day
    2. Hi Jan Arne, Are you certain that the second cross is a Juncker ? Does anyone know the pros and cons with whats what in the L/12 EK1 and EK2 for that matter ? Differences in cores and frames, theory or fact any thought ? Kr Marcus
    3. Behind, Jan Arne, Skip, Phil, Rob, Chet, Greg etc etc etc . Blimey the collecting community has gone tank mad !!! I dread Franks booking comming out more interest to be generated ! And novice old me trying in desperate vain to get the odd zinc'er ! It's tough to find half decent badges at a reasonable price now Bugger, you saw through my plan Oooh I've a couple of GAB's you've not seen actually, a real nice chrome finish BN&L I got in Germnay. Nothing to get excited about though. I'm grabbbing the cheapies while I can
    4. Another for the fold recently was this unmarked bronze L/53 zinc'er
    5. A Mayer buntmetal hollow back, it's not been cleaned so honest tarnish is evident, perhaps if I lightly cleaned it would look better, but I'll leave it alone I think.
    6. Another early IAB, as said before in this thread the incipient IAB's or vey much thought as such at least. Lovely condition this one with alot of frosting remaining
    7. I just aquired this cloth EK 1 from a gentleman in France, Francois whom I'm deeply grateful for his help in this purchase. Controversial and not every ones cup of tea, for reasons of the money and lack of provenance for such like examples of a highly and more 'easily' faked icon from the last war. Not a blind leap of faith purchase I made, but a decision based on the construction and materials which appeal to me more so than some examples perhaps in my judgement alone; asthetically it also appeals to me more than some encountered examples with the more rounded lines. All opinions welcome and certainly if you own an example please do share it with us. Kr Marcus Edit: It would help if I posted the pic
    8. Well I'm not going to argue or try to convince anyone, but as they say evaluate the item not the story, after all whats it worth ? A genuine packet be worth in this condition, 15-20 euro maybe and all in all you've a lovely cross. It's still a fake in my opinion and I stipulate that for the record. Kr Marcus
    9. Hi guys, Indeed as Darrel intimates this is a fake packet, very well done certainly, the paper being the better of most fakes but never the less fake. There are better emulations of genuine packets that actually existed but they lack this paper and also have faults in the print, the new ones though are hard by picture alone !! Typically these are never maker marked and have a left hand fold on the reverse instead of the more normal right hand fold, not that left folds are all bad or should be thought as such at all, it's a recognistion pointer as to this exact fake. To easily spot these fakes look at the numerals in the date and spaceing, once recognised you never forget it. They have been around for 20 odd plus years now, so another thought process difficult to combat is, ''I've have this for donkies years and it came from X dealer''. For collectors not to conversant on packets (EK), there are numerous designations and numerals in the date, spaceing too etc etc This one just happens to fool more than most, myself at one time also. I'm in the middle of an article for this forum at Nicks request on the pros and cons of such like. These packets, tan and blue as they come in (the above as stated isn't tan but faded of course) I've have numerous examples old and more recently purchased ink and paper date tested so as to get a premise conclusion (if not only in my mind and opinion) on these for the book. Dealers far and wide still sell them, some with 'interesting' stories to validate claims of originality, but there is not one ounce of provenance to even ever suggest they were a copy of the genuine article. Theres more to it but thats for the back pages of the book on a few fake packets. Each to their own at the end of the day though. Kr Marcus
    10. These are a maker you don't see so often and when you do on the occassion the cross is normally in a state of worn or a 'weathered' look (theres always rust spots on them), I've a near mint one cased with the marked outer carton, but these shown are in VERY nice condition !! Both better than mine I think ! Jan Arne, yours mate has that edge, super looking cross for a 107 !
    11. Oh god cloth, really not my thing, I even have one but it's all in the bank now ! One small provincial way to tell good from bad are the sizes of the 'holes' in the letters with a combination of other things. When shown the differences by an avid collector of cloth certain things stand out, my knoweldge on these as I say is very limited and my memory: semi senile, so other opinions would be desired. Dare I say, it appears (the impression I have) more good than bad even from this pic. Thr Italo/German medal looks ok too. But for confrmation of both such, would need more detailed pic's and close up pic's really. Over to the experts, Kr Marcus
    12. Hi Dan, Value: around the 70-80 mark in euro I would imagine, I'm just back from Stuttgart and the odd few I noted were around this price in your condition for this maker and the variant, perhaps the higher end of the estimate. That all being said, there are others far more conversant on the prices and mine is an estimation not gospel. So please wait out for other to respond too. Good luck with the rest of the collection, I'll keep my eye out and help if possible Kr Marcus
