      A beautiful bar. Note it doesn't have the wreath for the gold medal since it was self explanitory what the awards were.

      A fake. Used to be called the 2 dot fake but the makers have since improved it by removing the 2 dots at the bottom of the grass by the wreath.

      Unless the hinge is cast with the badge I would say that 1st class is a nice early piece.

      I've seen those on ebay coming out of Austria. Here is the reverse. The seller is troedlerrosi I have my doubts about these. He does seem to have an endless supply of them too.

      That is my thoughts exactly. The reverse set up is unique too. Looks more suitable for a funeral pillow than for wear on a uniform.

      Being an inquisitive sorta of guy I decided to look under the padding in the box. You never know what you might find. Now, this is it. Tell me this is a lock of hair from the owner?
