    1. Hi Rod, scans of the soldbuch would help I think.
    2. Looks like the makings of a reference book to me.
    3. I just found out it is nonmagnetic too.
    4. I might catch the bug myself. Thanks for posting Chris. We sometimes forget that the Germans actually had opponants.
    5. Last one- thanks again.
    6. a couple of more with different lighting. Is this an original and what time period are we looking at for manufacture?
    7. I need some expert opinions on this cross please. thanks in advance.
    8. I hope the purists don't lynch me but here goes nothing- the last medal on the last bar is a MarineKorps Flanderen commemorative medal ( ducking now). They come with battle clasps (which I believe the SOMME bar is). I have another one with two bars on it. It is a loose one but I think I posted it here somewhere before. All I know is this guy must have kicked some big time Butt and lived to tell about it, at least for a short time after the war. Probably a junior officer. Closing bunker door now.
    9. So what does a good one look like then?
    10. The crimp on the catch is not correct for that maker. I believe this badge is a well known fake.
    11. Sorry but IMHO this is not good. The catch is wrong, material is wrong and details on the front are wrong.
    12. I think some royals would want a better EK than the commoners were getting. Look at Herman Goering and the Galland diamonds affair. Just like animal haouse- all pigs are equal. Some pigs are more equal that others.
    13. Of course depending upon which carrear path you were on you could earn this.
    14. Keep at it and you might get a little something more.
    15. Saxons, what a great bunch of guys. Do your job and you get rewarded.
    16. Chris, just stick it under your armpit for a week or so. That should recreate the humid african climate and speed it on it's way to recovery.
