Jacky replied to a topic in Northern European & Baltic States

haha, Lured out by a dutchie....... However, it's a little shame, Did you know that the city of den Briel also had a medal, which was very sparely awarded??? I have seen one of them ?nd had it in my hands....... It's now still with the last living familymember of that man who bravely fought the spaniards in Den Briel..... Kind regards, Jacky

How did you see that Eric?? And did you mention it to them??? Kind regards, Jacky

I'm sorry to put these pictures here, but the seller wants a quick answer from me. And solomon, I got an email that your mailbox is currently full.... sorry to have flooded your box :S And putting up a thread seems to take quite a long way... The admin may remove them and put them in an appropriate place. I would like to have your opinion on their value and originality..... War merit cross lippe detmold *no ribbon*

Yes, and except for the uniform and the grenade, it's also true that belgium has a certain history of un-official medals..... So I'm lenied to think that it is a Belgian un-official medal. More precize Flanders..... Kind regards, Jacky p.s yes Eric, You're true, we dutchies have a better known history of beautifull medals all of ours are designed by Jan des Bouvrie and many other designers..... Speaking of designers, We have recently lost a great designer, No greater designer had been involved with the Dutch Army in all his accents, Yes, collectors of dutch medals know who I mean, Frans Smits Not only a designer but also decorated with; Knight of the order of Orange Nassau Resistance Commemorative Cross War Commemorative Cross

Belgium Belgian Order of the Crown
Jacky replied to Laurence Strong's topic in Northern European & Baltic States
Thanks anyway Guy, I just don't collect the order of the crown, merely the order of Leopold II and some other nice ones:) and I think that this medal would be at it bests with someone who would cherish this medal and not put it away. Concerning the prices, I have done already some research.... Kind regards, Jacky -
Belgium Belgian order of Leopold ll
Jacky replied to Laurence Strong's topic in Northern European & Baltic States
Nice one to know, however I must admit it's not really one I would like to have in my collection ...... It appears somehow strange to me... And yes, let's split the thread so it will get the attention it deserves!! Kind regards, Jacky -
Belgium Belgian Order of the Crown
Jacky replied to Laurence Strong's topic in Northern European & Baltic States
Hi Guy, Sorry for the delay, Thank you very much for your reply...... At the moment I do own an Grand Cross of the order of the crown, Sadly without the sash.... Do you have one for me??? Otherwise I'm thinking about parting with it..... Would be sad, but my major interest is with the order of Leopold II of which I'm the lucky owner to have obtained a Commander Leopold II recently Could you give me your guess-valuation on an old Grand Cross Badge of the order of the Crown Belgium with and without sash?? I will return to this soon. Kind regards, Jacky -
"Landwacht" was the name for those collaborators in the Netherlands, as members of the NSB (National Socialism Movement) they were very hatred by those patriotic.... However I can't find a clue to this medal nor a link or something with information about the medals..... Maybe the information thread or the personal research facility will help??? Kind regards, Jacky

Dear Solomon, I meant that my cros was the middle one, I'm missing the ribbon for it and wondering about its value.... This is the picture to be found when clicking on your link... Thanks for the link. Also the other medal was a bavrian military merit CROSS (either 1st or 3rd class) with swords. Concerning the pictures, I will have to wait for them..... If I get them, they will be posted here. Could you give me a hint for their values Also how much it would cost to have a ribbon for the lippe detmold war merit cross 2nd class??? Thanks in advance.

Dear Gents, May I bother you all with a stupid question?? *stupid??? My Professor always said that there aren't stupid questions but just stupid answers * anyway.... I have been offered an lippe Detmold cross without the ribbon (it had to be on a ribbon) this image is lacking a ring on the upper cross-arm and it had been copied from this site Together with it was another medal, I thought it was the Bavarian Merit Order with swords it looks like this without the enamel and with a gold/bronze finish not sure about its color. Copied from Camp 11 what do you gents think of it's value ?nd the ability to re-ribbon the lippe detmold cross??? Thanks in advance, Kind regards, Jacky

Nice one!! It was sold recently on "Marktplaats".... Good luck with your research, I'm wondering whether it will be researchable... Anyway again good luck and maybe will there happen a little wonder...... I have tried to contact and establish the Grand Chancellerie d'Legion d'Honneur to obtain information about a person and they denied almost every request, but then..... after a long time and many emails, I got my information Kind regards, Jacky

well well, I would like to see that "something small and nice"too Maybe a picture after the meeting, to spoil the joy not at this moment the cross of merit?? I can't really see what the device is, it seems an arabic note........ *correction, I have been looking for more information, and it seems that you are true!!! My humble appologies therefore*
