Bundesrepublik Miniature chain
ksg replied to ksg's topic in Germany: Post 1945: Bundesrepublik & DDR
Sorry for late response, but thanks for your opinion's! The first thing I didn't like about it was the lack of the Hindenburg Cross the rest was of course obvious when you pointed it out. Thanks again! I think the most deasent thing to do here is to dismantle it, keep the one I lack in my collection (2. class with "spange" )and sell the rest as loose items. Here is two new ones which I think is the real thing. Kjell [attachmentid=51278] -
Hello I once had one with the same grips. It was a byf 1943 whit all matching parts. I also remember to have read somewhere that only Mauser used these grips and only in 1943. Kjell

My latest addition. I was surprised to find a denazified "Panzerkampfabzeichen" on the chain. Was this normal? Kjell [attachmentid=47108]

It's absolutely horrible to See a nice gun treated like this!!! Can't find words...and I was sorry because mine are converted to semi-automatic. The Mk II was bought as full-automatic, so I was lucky to have some fun with it before it was converted. Absolutely one of the nicest Mg's I have fired ! Here is a few snapshot of mine, the Mk.I is from -42 and the Mk.II from -43. Kjell [attachmentid=47101]

Hi Jens I thought Sanskrit was no longer in use but Hindi or Urdu might come from it. Now it suddenly hit me !! Take the picture to an Indian restaurant and ask around. But I would also like to know something about the contract and the user. Will keep you informed. Kjell

Hi Peter Thanks for your opinion! I was also thinking about India or Thailand, either Hindi or Urdu. Will keep you informed. Kjell

Hi Grant Hope you get time to do this some day, its needed! Regards, Kjell

Bundesrepublik 57er Ribbon Bars
ksg replied to Mike K's topic in Germany: Post 1945: Bundesrepublik & DDR
Hi Mike Nice bars! Here is mine. Two of them are unused and unmounted but I chose to include them here. I also included the miniature medal bar because it matches the ribbon bar below. Kjell [attachmentid=47058] -
Thanks for confirming this. Have seen the German merit cross boxes and I have 3 different types of -57 KC boxes (WWII types) but had to check.... I wish someone would dedicate a hole book to -57's !!! Kjell

Was -57 KC's offered in S&L marked boxes like this? Kjell [attachmentid=45968] [attachmentid=45970] [attachmentid=45971]

EK 1939 Miniature Knight Cross whit oak leaf, swords & diamonds
ksg replied to ksg's topic in Germany: All Eras: The Iron Cross
Thanks for your opinions! It was my thought also but on the other hand this is nothing I seen before, so... Have compared it to two 57 oakleavs & sword. The earliest one is in fact more detailed than the diamond, but not as bad as the ribbon stickpin. The size and the plain reverse was also a bit odd. Kjell [attachmentid=45868] -

ksg replied to ksg's topic in Germany: Post 1945: Bundesrepublik & DDR
Hi Thanks for the help! Here is a better obverse picture. Might be helpful to identify unmarked Assman ICs. Kjell [attachmentid=45841] -
Hi You have some nice ones there! I specially like the non-combatant bow and the 1870 whit 25 year clasp. Nice!!! I agree, no need to stop whit only one. It's probably to late! Here is some more of mine. Kjell [attachmentid=45838]
