    1. Here's something of a rareity - a FLL Nickle Silver Flak badge - it is extremely fragile (as can be seen by the cracks on the rear), as far as I know FLL only made a few of these before they changed to using Zinc. The soldering is a bit crude on the hinge, but it's nothing to worry about. The cracks appeared during manufacturing, they have not got any worse over time. I was in contact with a certain Flak badges book autor about this badge and he is more than happy with it being original - it is an omission from the Flak Badges book - as the author was not aware of these when the book went to print. One of the reasons FLL changed from Nickle Silver to zinc was the problems they had in manufacturing - this is one reason you see so few of these - the other is that many of the originals would have broken a long time ago. 2. Just thought I would show you my B&NL Pilots badge. Mike http://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_07_2010/post-1426-12805803761.jpghttp://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_07_2010/post-1426-128058038126.jpg
    3. Hello Jan, The last one looks like a Gottleib & Wagner made IAB, it is the Shuco design variant. Kind Regards, Mike
    4. Very nice and original Zimmermann DKIG. You photo hosting page has some serious destractions (the banner being one) Mike
    5. He wouldn't be standing there in that state if he had been awarded a Gold Wound Badge. Mike
    6. Can you post a picture of the catch looking from the base of the WB? Also one of the hinge from the top? Mike
    7. Both are original. The WB has been de-nazified - which is a shame as it is a nice early type 2. I guess 20 euros for both is OK. Mike
    8. This is a fake, the bubble/bead lines between the sword hilts/pommels are very wrong. Also have a look at what to me is artificial ageing (the rust). Mike
    9. The KVK and the OST are good. I don't know much about Westwall medals, but it also looks good. Mike
    10. Nice badge Don. Have you ever seen any maker marked B.H. Mayers BWB's where the mark has not been on the pin? Mike
    11. I'm not convinced the screw back components are original period components; based on the way they are attached and the materials used they look relatively modern. Mike
    12. Yeah, I've seen a lot of the "standard" stahlhelm badges, they are very common. I would be interested to know how many of the type I have are still in existence? From my recent research - very few (and before you ask - the badge is NOT for sale) Mike
    13. Hell Kevin, Thanks for the information on the book. I have received some further information on the badge - it appears they were worn by the F?hrer's of the NSDFBSt., on a cross strap of the Sam Browne belt. Cheers, Mike
    14. Hello Kevin, Thanks for the information. I have been trying for ages to get a copy of the book "Deutscheland Orden & Ehrenzeichen 1800-1945" by Jorg Nimmergut. Cheers, Mike
    15. Hello, Firstly, apologies if this is the wrong froum, I'm not quite sure where to post this. I have had the below National Sozialistische Deutscher Frontk?mpferbund Stahlhelm badge for a couple of almost a couple of years. Through all my research I have yet to find another example of this specific type of pin and have not been able to find out when and to whom they were issued. If anyone can tell me more about the badge? I would be very interested. Thanks, Mike
    16. I'm not sure it was "cleaned", it just looks like wear and tear over the years have taken their toll on the black finnish. Mike
    17. Hello Jan, It is purporting to be a German Third Reich "type 1" wound badge (also referred to as "Condor" - although this is not in my eyes strictly an accurate term as these WB's were also issued to those wounded in the second world war). To be sure as to wehether it is authentic - can you post a picture of the rear? Best Regards, Mike
    18. Rocky, any chance of a pic of the reverse of the BWB without the nut?
    19. Joe, Thanks for the update. It's not that I doubt Dr. Hamelman, I'm just trying to research the true Condor WB's further with the view to getting a definitive details on the Condor WB's. To this end I'm seeking further information from other parties that corroborate Dr. Hamelmans findings; knowing the exact source or Dr. Hamelmans information also helps towards this, also pinpointing the exact maker of Condor WBs would be a massive step forward. Cheers, Mike
