    2. Hello, a very nice paper. Ancestry has several listings of him, here some facts. He was born 26. October 1895 His profession was butcher. On June 6th, 1916 he was spilled at Douamont and came to a hospital with big ear problems. In 1917 he had to go back to the hospital , this time he got dysentery. On the 8th of January 1918 he joined to the FEA 1 Fliegerersatzabteilung 1 at Schleißheim/Munich. His duty was worker and later security guard. On may 1919 he was released. Awards: EK2 ; bavarian Military cross 3. class swords (I hope you will understand my special google english)
    3. Hello Chris, gratulations for these papers. Very nice documents of the 2. Jägerbataillons leader. It is a pity, that these documents were separated, but that's ebay business. I have missed the papers for the EK1 and the service cross2. I have added together all the results and it came together a sum of just under 2200 Euro. The highlights were the papers of the third class swords and the third class crown/swords. Here a picture of Oberstleutnant Lettenmayer.
    4. Now you have to decorate the bar with golden teeth :-) What kind of scientist was Professor Bruno Hoyer? I only found this name at wikipedia for a musician in the bavarian Staatsoper (Hornist) Regards Andreas
    5. Hello Andreas, thats a great bar. The ribbon on the 5th ist very blurred. Thanks for the resolution. That bar would be for a superscript person. Do you have the Luwigsmedal which belongs to this bar? The owner got the Ludwigskreuz for 40 years of duty, so I think he would be a scientist in a bavarian Research Institute or similar.
    6. Hello Signalcorps, a very nice bar. Please turn the Luitpoldmedal to the frontside. Which yearfigures shows the bandeau under the crown? I think this bar will be a civillians-decoration. The Luitpold shows the red ribbon for civillians. The Michaelmedal was given to officials and civillians. Propably a bar of an musician or artist for example. Andreas bar is very, very nice. The second medal was given for the participants of the golden wedding of the bavarian King Ludwig III in 1918. The 5th medal, I can not really determine. For me it looks like the ribbon for a bavarian Landwehr- servicemedal. The beautifullest medal is the silver Luitpoldmedal with crown, I like it very much.
    7. Very nice items. Here my two pieces. One has lost his Lid for a metal-collection at the war. It was replaced with a beatiful porcellan-lid in the 20th. Both mugs have a little hole on the lower side.
    8. Very nice bar, with a medal for war merit Sachsen-Meiningen. It is the decoration for soldiers and NCO's.
    9. Hello Chris, remember the post of the user bavaria on site 1. He wrote Scheid signes only for two weeks. Very nice thread, and a very nice paper, what you got.
    10. Hello, I think the 35mm ribbon is from the first awarding. In the 30th, there would be manufactured different kinds of bars, so you need different sizes of ribbons. look here the bars of my relative. Upper was made of the original ribbons. The medal is a post-war production. The original is lost. Most time he wear the TM seperate from the bar. The small bars are made from the 15mm ribbons and the lower ribbins are about 20 - 25 mm.
    11. Hello, last time I had a lot of problems with the new forum, I couldn't write anything. This MVO with the Deschler-swords is a Hemmerle-cross. The signs will be on the frontsite of the agraffe under the swords. I've never seen MVO's with Deschler-swords. Deschler wasn't a manufactuere for the MVO, they produce only MVK second and third class. Can you show a picture of the whole backside of theses MVO? I want see if it is a gold or a silver gilt medaillon. What kind of ribbon has the MVO, would you show us the complete bar? Cheers Andreas
    12. Hello, "Herrn Hauptmann a. D von Schilcher zum Dank für die treue Unterstützung gezeichnet von der Komission für Kriegsgeschichte" Reiss What shows the frontside?
    13. Hello Chris, what a beautifull book. The dedication is the bullseye. Anton Gentil was a Aschaffenburger artist and sculptor. He create the big deer-sculpture hanging on the wall of Aschaffenburg castle.
    14. Hello Andreas, ther are some listings in the ancestry database. He was also called Hans Ruckert. With the rank of sergeant he got his awards in China. In the first WW he got the EK2. His last rank was Feldwebel-Leutnant. Do you have a picture of him? regards Andreas
    15. Hello, he was also winner of the bavarian Militär-Max-Joseph-Orden. So he could change his name to Ritter von Greim.
    16. thanks a lot for the explanation. It is a pretty pin made of gold. The owner told me, that would be decoration from the civilwar-aera.
    17. Hello gents, i've got this golden pin of Kappa Alpha. It is made of gold with pearls and ruby stones. How old could this pin be? The monogram will be addet seperately, but it is the same material and pearls. regards Andreas
    18. Hello, there is only one date named in "Bayerns Goldenes Ehrenbuch" "Beim Sturm auf das französische Bollwerk im Bois D'Ailly am 26.1.1915 erklettert Vzfw Eydel der 4. Komp 4. bay. RIR zugleich mit dem die 3. Sturmkolonne führenden Unteroffizier den Wall und dreht sofort ein dastehendes französisches Maschinengewehr nach dem Feinde. Aber es ist nicht in Gang zu bringen, so hält er Handgranaten werfend die ganze Nacht im Bollwerk aus und hat dadurch wesentlich Anteil am Festhalten der Schanze, die er erst verlassen muss, als er am rechten Arm und der rechten Seite verwundet wird." On Ancestry database are some listings of him, but no date about the awarding of the TM. The golden TM is listed without date.
