    1. Guys, Any ideas about what this bloke would have done? These are three different sub unit titles that are used in his Militair pass and EK prelim doc? Cheers Jock
    2. To be sure there are a couple of non BGS but it is a family album/effects. I see one photo with two couples (wedding?) and I suppose the Bund army lad could be a relation, brother perhaps since both are on the photo in their respective uniforms? I did not point it out as it is pretty obvious but you make a clear point. It's never too old to have a hobby, hell, it is almost essential the older one gets, if you do start to re-collect something then let me know and I will keep my eyes open! Best Regards
    3. I suppose that depends on your motivation, if someone is shelling 7 bales out of you then even a tea spoon would be better than nothing? I have no axe to grind here, in fact I just have no axe at all! Eric, Is the one on the far right rounded at the corners to fit the carrier and are the rest flat or square if you will like a normal spade?
    4. Thanks for the detail Kev, I will ask her if he survived, I think he did, she has told me before, if I remember correctly she said he was a horrible character, families eh! You can't choose them.
    5. Guys, A lone document but hopefully more stuff will be found by the lady!
    6. Thanks for that extra information! There are trebles in the pictures if anyone else has an interest too!
    7. I presume the dummpy spade is the MG spade, have never seen one before your thread!
    8. Brian, I think it is probably as you state. You are at your level 'preaching to the converted'! That is not to say I don't read your articles as I do and find them witty and informative but since they often cover areas that I did not know existed it is beyond me to comment on accuracy or usefulness of your articles since for the most part I am religated to 'student'! I look forward to your planned blog on the events in which I took part so may have an opinion on or some knowledge of. I am at the moment not saying much on any forum as I can not trust myself when I am passionate about something to not put my foot in it. I would not want to 'enrage' any members. I do have to ask though across all of these fora, where has the passion for the hobby gone? In most fora it seems the mood is manipulated by the opinions of the 'pop stars' of the affected area. To look at one situation now potentialy costing the hobby millions in fraud would be the SS Champagne Decal farce. People were against them but it was not until an alleged 'pop star' deamed them fake was it accepted as such. People that did voice concern were 'bullied' by said same groups of 'pop stars' that are now eating their words. Sad really. I think where your articles differ is that they are based on fact and research so provoke little debate since there is less opinion and more fact? Anyways, keep up the good work! Jock
    9. The helmet net is BGS I think, there are more items but since I have shown an interest the price is creeping upward. I think I will quit while I am ahead and I have the best stuff already.
    10. some more and there are some doubles if anyone wants them. Still sideways! Aghhh! Sorry they are all over the place.
    11. Paul, No idea why, perhaps it happened natuarally as it is the earliest 'paramilitary/police force' formed after the war and perhaps existing production lines were still geared toward that style? When the BW was formed they had had more time to think about it and actively sought to destroy any military traditions or links to the past.
    12. Some more bits from the same guy. Not all as I am using my phone to post this.
    13. Probably just the scan then, I find it changes the colour appearance when I scan it looks atrificially bright.
    14. Chris, Are you sure this is good? It may just be the picture but the aging or dirt at the top looks a bit contrived?
    15. Really, why so, I would have thought it pretty common, they had a large navy?
    16. Not at the moment but there were more shooting things but I could not take them all at the time as I had empty pockets, might have a look tomorrow and see if the rest is still there!
    17. I had no idea there were such things and that we have them here to look at. Must be rocking horse poo! Looks like a dry suit with a zipper? How far ahead were they!
    18. I have to to give them to people, I would be a bit greedy if I kept them all!
    19. You did not do it properly, you should have bought the address off of him for €20 and left him wondering!
    20. Guys, Again something I have had a short while, not really my bag. An uglier looking design I don't think even I could dream up?
    21. Guys, Looking through some of my foriegn junk, had this a while and it was posted on WRF where it was identified as an NKVD pointy hat. Of course this may have changed as the opinion on there fluctuates a lot. When I got it, it was missing the metal star but I found one localy that fitted the requirements.
