    1. Thanks a lot. Jerry (member here too) is a archaeologist, but he just moved from Wales to Israel, and didn't see him being active on any militaria forum for a while... Here are some more pic's, I just got it in.
    2. The stuff always fascinated me! But I don't know anything about it. Just took a chance today on this. Better pic's as soon as I get it.
    3. I am reading "oorlog onder water" (War Beneath the Waves: U-boat Flotilla Flandern 1915-1918 Tomas Termote) at the moment,Weichler isn't mentioned but his boat and captain are!....
    4. Sixth one also appears to be a general, seems like two vertical bars on his cap....and one man behind the king is also a general.
    5. Thank you! Any chance to see the mirror?
    6. here is a post war Belgian cap tally of a ship who had quiet a history. Confiscated by the Germans when in the dry dock in Antwerp and finished in Germany to become Herman Von Wissmann captured by the British it was baptized HMS Royal Harold. And given back to Belgium end of 1952, first it was used for military transport to Belgian Congo and also brought our troops to Korea (Pusan). TNA is french and stands for; Transport Naval Auxiliaire. It becomes a ordinary Belgian military ship in 1960. Cap tile will only mention Kamina from then on (no TNA anymore). It was demolished in Belgium 1968. Judging by the previous owners number the cap dates from 1957 or '58. I have been waiting for ages to get one.
    7. Judging by the ribbon (colors!) and the lion, you could say it is Flemish... But like I said, nothing I know or ever seen. The lack of finish, makes me say it is nothing official...
    8. On the tenth row you will find a medal looking like yours but still many differences... http://www.semon.fr/DECORATIONS_BELGES_3.htm There is no explanation given to what it is .... Here a screen save;
    9. Nothing I know or ever seen...
    10. Nice collection, but should have been posted in; http://gmic.co.uk/forum/255-non-military-collectibles-antiques/
    11. Anything on the side buttons (back side as well!) to give a clue?
    12. The story you just told about hat molds, happened to me,....as a seller on catawiki a few years ago. It was about a lot of a few molds I expected to get like 3 to 400 euro, instead it went up to 3.000 euro (and more!)by two bidders. The winner was a Dutch lady living not far from me. I went to bring here the lot, because I had to see who this was. BTW the only edelweiss collection I got are these;
    13. I have got this framed picture laying here for weeks and can't figure out who he is... Can you???
    14. Thought it had to do with ....Hugo Boss... ;-)
    15. Hey Guy, did you noticed this; http://donum.ulg.ac.be/expo/pourquoipas/pdf/P1178C_1926_02_12.pdf
    16. Hey Guy the name you asked for is mentioned two times in my man's diary. He only started his diary in 1916 but lost a big part, so is mentioned in handwriting above the 1917/18 (machine written) part.
    17. But what is this medal doing among this guy's belongings; The Hispano- Belgian friendship medal with Franquist coat of arms....
    18. Pleasure is mine! ;-) K Our guy at younger age, and his parents;
