I've been interested with Reuss things for quite some time now, but I haven't started to collect them.. ..yet.. Don't get me wrong, Baden is my main interest, but I do have to expand to other states to keep my collecting viable. Besides there aren't many Baden awards left that I could acquire. I got one nice item from Christian that I will post in a while. So any and all members who have Reuss honor crosses and other Reuss things, please share them so we can ! I may have something to add to this thread too In a little while..

I finally made it across the pond. The flights were very tiresom and long, but that was forgotten as soon as I set my foot inside the show. Now thats what I'd call a big event. Most of the stuff was US naturally and there were only a few guys with Imperial stuff around, so the material benefit consists of 4 books that I got. But that didn't really bother me. I was able to meet so many old friends and combine names with faces thats it's still hard to put them in any order. I even got to meet the Evil Twinns! One of them is indeed Evil.. I also met Oak leaf winner Walter Schuck and had a long talk with him in german. He was happy to see a finnish face there, especially because he was stationed in Finland for three years during the war! Here are a few Imperial things that I spotted there, first off some pickelhaubes.. (sorry about the small size, but my per post limit isn't bigger than that..)

EK 1914 1914 Clasp to 1870 EK
Blitz replied to Gordon Williamson's topic in Germany: All Eras: The Iron Cross
Well, my german has rusted a bit in the past few months, but there are a few comparison pics that I find interesting and rather scary. Here is the WAF thread: http://www.wehrmacht-awards.com/forums/sho...401#post1271401 -

Whatever the purpose, It is nicely made and it's rare to see such pieces manufactured post-ww2. -

My humble collection
Blitz replied to Paul R's topic in Germany: Third Reich: Uniforms, Headwear, Insignia & Equipment
Paul, I'd hardly call your collection a humble one. It's big and varsatile! I'm really impressed. -
Very stylish indeed, I like it!

Lately I've been thinking about US navy uniforms, mostly because of a good tv series (JAG). I collect german awards and nothing is going to change that, but that doesn't mean that I cant be curious.. What I'm interested in, is a complete navy admirals uniform (service dress blues) with coat, trousers and the hat. I've checked marlow white website, so I know what a brand new combination costs. I naturally cant order one directly from the maker because i'm not a US citizen. So how much does a used modern set cost? And is it possible (legal) to acquire one? Thank you for your time.
