    1. Allright, seems, like my prayers were heard, as i received research for this group. The award card(?s. Actually there are two!) pretty much confimes, what Rick already told us above, but i?ll post them though. Award Card 1 Obverse
    2. Don, is that the reason, you dumped all your Zink badges? Or do you own this one already?
    3. Dave, thanks a million. Thats the second OPW 2nd class for wounds this week. Whats new to me, is that Scouts were attached to Howitzer Units. Or is that meant as an Observer for the Artillery? I have checked it and found a few Glories and Red Stars for this date, which were awarded for wounds. So, it really looks like a batch of these awards for wounds were indeed awarded on the 06.11.47 Edit: It looks like every year at the begin of November all Long Service Awards and other awards like cumulative awards and awards for wounds were processed. Probably nothing new to you guys, but its new to me! Thanks again best, Gerd
    4. Award card reverse, the only award noted... Year of award is most likely 1947, its a little hard to read.
    5. Gentlemen, here is the third researched piece of the last research-batch, i got, another OPW 2nd class, Serialnumber 741.561. I hope, Rick isn?t too busy to help me with this one too. Like allways at first a picture of the piece in question:
    6. Thanks, Dave, its indeed interesting. I haven?t seen so many researchees like you have, but i already thought, this might be something unusual. Seems, like this is one of the earliest OPW?s with a citation like this for the wounds he received. Paul Schmitt lists in "Echoes of war" another one with a higher 5XX.XXX number and thats the first in his list for wounds. Of course there could be earlier ones, but probably not that much.
    7. Paul, thats a fantastic research, you got there for your Red Banner I admit, I am a little jealous Great results, thanks for sharing
    8. Thank you very much, gentlemen. So this is a cumulative award for his service and for the wounds, he received. Now, what could ROMVA have been? Many thanks, Gerd
    9. Thanks, Andrei, very interesting I have a group to another mortar man, who was also wounded severly twice.
