    1. Just recovering from a heavy cold with a record fever, this is great news, Bryan You?ve also made my day
    2. Thats a most interesting photo, Auke. The HSU on the left, what does he wear next to his Hero-Star? What a fantastic group of awards with the Glory 3rd class Also interesting to see the Cavalier of Order of Glory wears his ribbonbar additionally to his awards. Thanks for posting these pictures Gerd
    3. I agree completely. I would prefer an order, converted by the recipient rather than an order, which was later re-converted by a dealer. Here is a nice example of a converted T1 Red Banner, mentioned above by our Forum-Wizard Rick Research: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=4458&
    4. Andrei, thank you for posting the pictures of the conversions. Most interesting. Gerd
    5. Here is a small group, that came in my collection a while ago. For completeness, i will add it to this thread too. More pictures and information in this thread: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=13230
    6. Absolutely fantastic. The first one, i have ever seen outside the Nimmergut-catalog. Congrats, WC
    7. Yes, please post the conversions, Andrei. I am interested. Gerd
    8. I think, Prosper has a good point here. Being a dumba$$ myself, when it comes to WW1, i often can?t relate to the action behind the Document. But due to this forum, i now know at least, that a "First Day on the Somme" Document is something special and very collectable. The more i get into it(with the help of Chris?and others contributions on this forum), the more i can understand the fascination with these documents. And of course the design of some of these is breathtaking If i had unlimited funds, i would collect these too. Gerd
    9. Thanks for the comments, everyone. Rick, thanks a million for the translation. Dave, i appreciate EVERY comment, as i am not a hunter for the perfect combat-citation. I like the unusual twists in these stories. Rick and Dave, you guys really bring life in this hobby with the information, you add. Thanks a bunch Thanks again Gerd
    10. Thank you, Rick. Telegraph Exploitation Company Thats an interesting Unit-designation. Indeed very strange, he wasn?t promoted in almost 14 years, especially as he was such a well decorated chap. Thanks again, my friend Gerd
    11. Thanks, OoV. In short, it says, he and his unit kept the communication lines alive in several mentioned towns and so on... I?ll get a translation for it, so we will know the content for sure, but it takes some time. Gerd
    12. Beautiful ORB with great research If it ever needs a new home... Nice one, thanks for sharing. Gerd
    13. and a nice photo of Lt-Col. Dudnik with good visible awards, including the OPW 1st class in question.
