    1. I just purchased 2 volumes of the Milit?r-Wochenblatt from 1937 and 1937. Each contains about 25 weekly issues and each volume is over 1700 pages! It should be interesting reading. I am sure I will be doing some posts from them.
    2. Does anyone have anything from U-660 or from the commander Baur? Any info would help.
    3. I received the email from a fellow collect, Andy B. and he asked me to do the post as he is unable to get it. I read the string on Godet and Werner and then yesterday, I received a copy of the 1930 Milit?r-Wochenblatt in the mail. As I was paging through it, I came across an ad on page 1034 for the firm. I do not have the means to digitize the ad (no scanner or camera). I'd like to ask you to post the information below into the string, as I think it is quite germane to the on-going discussion. ======== J. Godet & Sohn / J.H. Werner seit 1761 Juweliere Berlin W. Friedrichstra?e 173 zwischen Franz?schische und J?ger Stra?e Juwelen * Goldschmuck * SIlberwaren Bestecke * Uhren * Ehrenpreise Werkstatt im Hause - Vorschriftm??. Orden Zusammen- stellungen - In- und Ausland - Original / Minatur "Wie trage ich meine Orden? Brosch?re 1,25 M porotfrei. Postscheck: Berlin 227 69 ======== If nothing else, this should dispell any doubts that the two ever worked together. Thanks very much, Andy What is the 1930 Milit?r-Wochenblatt?
    4. Does anyone collect or research Thrid Reich diplomates. I am looking for pictures and information of and about the TR diplomatic corps. Do you know of anyone else that may have this interest?
    5. I have my reservations about this Godet tag. Attached is the Godet firm history from Court Jewelers of the World by Jeffrey R. Jacobs, published in 1975. Part 1
    6. As a group we must have a very large library of research material i.e. ranklists and such. I think it would be a good idea to list what each of us has. 8. That is a really nice choice for your first bar. You can't go wrong with Godet!
    9. I was told that the awards for a Oskar Hartwig of FAA 242 are listed in Neal O'Connor's "Aviation Awards", Vol. IV. If someone has this book would you look up his awards and list them for me. Thanks
    10. I am looking for 2 unit histories to find pictures of Arnold von Behm 1842-1924 Gen. der Infantry and commander of the 38th division and General Muller, first commander of FAR nr. 71 1899-1903. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
    11. Hello All, I have also been looking for a copy of B?nderkatalog Orden & Ehrenzeichen - Deutschland 1800 - 1945. It is a very hard book to find. I will make an offer here which is when I get my new hogh speed scanner in a month or two if some has a copy of this book that is falling apart I am more then happy to make a Adobe PDF copy of the book and give it free to anyone. Maybe we can make if a free download from the forum or if we run into any copyright issues we can just pass it around forum members. Again, I need the book to scan.
    12. Do you have Stephen Previteria's new book on the PLM title "Prussian Blue" I highly recommend it.
    13. The Waldeck ribbon bar has been tentatively traced to Oskar Hartwig, LtdR in FAA 242. If he is the same LtdR Hartwig who was before in RFAR 22. He is the only match for WgM (20.02.1918) who might have gotten a WVK4X (30.10.1915). Also no Artillery/Flieger observer named Hartwig died during the war. Can anyone provide any information on what type of unit is a FAA or RFAR? Did these units have post war regimental history books? Any help is appreciated?
    14. My Great-Uncle was in the Russian Army. I can't id the uniform. Maybe someone can help. I originally posted this in the Soviet Medals Forum, but I think I may get more help here. Thanks and the link is below. http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=7142
    15. Thanks Rick. What I find very intersting is that my cousin (actually my father's cousin) was a Russian fighter pilot. My Uncle in the USA was a Bombadiar on B-17. If there ever was a war in the late 40's or 50's. they might have met over the skys of the USSR!!
    16. My grandfather came to America in about 1912. I have a few pictures of my Great-Uncle and (I know this will get confusing) my father's cousin. The first picture is my great-uncle circa 1912 (?). Can anyone ID the uniform or boards? The second picture is my father's cousin. I believe is was a Soviet pilot with the rank of Captain. I do not know the date of the picture. Any help is appreciated.

    18. Yes, This bar is mine. It came out of the Tony Colson collection. If anyone has pictures of diplomates during the TR era I would appreciate them looking through the photos for a diplomat wearing this bar. I know it is a long shot but that is the only way I will find out who owned the bar.
