    1. Great collection Chris. Some very fine items. Regards,Martin.
    2. Hendrik, thank you very much for the translation.I really appreciate it.Rogge is the man i'm interested in mostly, but it is also nice to have two U-Boat aces in the same photograph. Thanks and regards,Martin.
    3. hi everyone.i just received this Hoffman press-photo.It is of Bernhard Rogge, commander of the Hilfskreuzer Atlantis,Heinrich Lehmann-Willenbrock,U-96 and Reinhard Suhren,U-564,being awarded their Oakleaves. I was wondering if someone could kindly translate the type on the reverese of the photo posted below. Many thanks,Martin.
    4. Very nice.I do like the badges and the photographs displayed together. Regards, Martin.
    5. Eric, sorry but i do not have a K&Q badge in my collection.Maybe some other members do.When your time permits iwould still like to see photo's of the machinery. When i was a teenager i worked weekends in the Austin motor factory at Longbridge in Birmingham.I worked in the shop where various engine parts were struck.Cam shafts ,etc.I bet the machinery for striking badges was very similar. Regards, Martin.
    6. Hi Eric, great story. It will be interesting to see the photos of the machinery. Thanks, Martin.
    7. Mike - Here is the Link requested link: Martin
    8. Mike, yes very similar indeed. It is known that Juncker made Auxiliary Cruiser badges,Coastal Artillery and U-Boat badges,so why not Minesweeper badges? Regards,Martin.
    9. mike, here is my minesweeper for comparison. Martin.
    10. Hi Mike, these badges were discussed recently on WAF and the opinions of some members was that they could be unmarked Junckers. The hinge and catch on these minesweeper badges are identical to those on the Juncker Coastal Artillery and Auxiliary Cruiser badges. Regards,Martin.
    11. Hi Michel, that is good news.Thank you very much.Is the vertical pin on your badge attached by a circular plate? Do you know if these badges were manufactured in Germany or "locally" in France? Again, thanks. Martin.
    12. The reverse.Sadly the pin is missing.
    13. Reading Gordons book has re kindled my interest in this badge.I've had it for many years and beleive it to be original, although i have had nothing to compare it to exept a couple of photo's from a fellow collector. He was the only other person i knew that owned one of these. There is one illustated in Gordons book on page.77.Iwas wondering if Michel could post it for a comparison. Many thanks, Martin.
    14. Michel, great collection of photographs. Thanks to you and Monsun for showing. Regards,Martin.
    15. Hi Michel, hope you don't mind me posting this picture. He's not a U-Boat Ace but a merchant raider, nontheless. Kapitan Zur See,Bernhard Rogge, commander of the Hilfskreuzer Atlantis. The signature is just visible on the left.Regards,Martin.
    16. Gordon,i was really thrilled to get the book today.I have #10 of 500.I am only a few miles away from Rogers place in San Jose. Again, wonderful book, regards,Martin.
    17. Here is a tombak badge i used to have in my collection.
    18. Hi Greg, your badge has the typical hardware set-up for Schwerin zinc badges.Giorgios' badge has the set-up found on Schwerin tombak badges. As for the eagle it looks like someone cut the wings off and de-nazified it. Regards,Martin
    19. my copy just arrived via UPS. Fantastic job,Gordon. My thanks to you, your contributors and Roger Bender. The illustrations and the design are superb.A must have for any KM or TR collector. Congratulations, Martin.
    20. Hi Jody ,beautiful badges. The Axiliary Cruiser is great.Hopefully one day i'll have one. Back to the subject i think Schwerin made a fine Minesweeper, also. regards,Martin.
    21. Thanks Mark, just talked to dad back in Enland and he said that he was a Rough Rider and trained the "part-broken" horses, most of which came from Ireland. Regards,Martin.
