Dear forumites, I was checking some old images of my brother's collection and I stumbled on this old and tiny jpg-Picture of an old Hüsken's catalogue, a German dealer of Hamburg. My brother acquired this bar from Thies in 2004 well after the Hüsken's catalogue came out, but fortunately my brother saved the Hüsken pics of this bar, that it was sold WITH a named document (!!!!). Unfortunately the documents is so tiny that I can only read the name Adolf Krause... Hof... something, very likely he worked at the court of the Fürst of Schaumburg-Lippe. Here's the composition of the bar: Schaumburg-Lippe Kreuz für treue Dienste am Nichtkämpferband (OEK 1256/1); Schaumburg-Lippe, Hausorden, goldene Verdienstkreuz, 1917-1918 (OEK 1219); Schaumburg-Lippe, Hausorden, silberne Verdienstkreuz, 1869-1918 (OEK 1220), Br vg (1914-1917); Schaumburg-Lippe, Erinnerungsmedaille an die Silberne Hochzeit, 1907 (OEK 1242). As you can see it's the same bar we are speaking of; somebody has the entries of the Schaumburg-Lippe medals rolls? Maybe we could now more about the original owner of this singular medal bar devoted entirely to Schaumburg Lippe. I'm eagerly waiting for your precious inputs and thank you in advance for your interest. Best regards, Claudio PS: I forgot to say that the Golden Verdienstkreuz on the bar was very sparely conceded... this is a Silver gilted version not the full Golden one... that would be even rarer!

I am looking forward to your interesting opinions and inputs. Cordially C

Hi, The mounting style looks very Swedish, mounted like the German style, but with that exactly same type of metallic pin and catch and no fabric covering the reverse. That would explain the missing Ehrenkreuz for non combatants. Strange is that there isn’t a single Swedish order or medal on this bar. It could also be that this was the second bar showing only the foreign awards. cheers Claudio PS: see my thread of 2009 Thread

Thanks Laurentius. Here I'm posting all the documents that the Bavarian State archives could find on him; they were extremely helpful and very efficient and sent me all these documents in PDF format on a CD. There are some "Qualifikations-Bericht" that I can't read. Especially those of 1914 and 1913, same "shitty" hand writing... Maybe someone could help me? Thanks in advance! Sincerely, Claudio

Dear Komtur!!!! Wooooooooooooooooow! That was such a wonderful surprise to read your message today early in the morning. After so many years a name, face and history behind a tuxedo medal bar has been finally found. That is so cool; even more because the wearer was such an elusive and rather unknown middle-rank harbor civilian official . Many many thanks to your extraordinary research work; not even the poor Rick Lundstrom (RIP) could unfortunately find him... you have beaten the master! Although, I think that given the research possibilities of today, Rick could have given to the collecting and researching community of German Imperial orders so much more, if he had lived longer... Thanks again Komtur! ????
