Hi Darrell, Nice trio! My thoughts are that the owner mounted these himself and as he had forgotten to snip off some ribbons for the ribbon bar...( and then mount the rosette to that) so he had a leftover rosette, so decided to mount it to the top of the ribbons on the home made bar. OR, he just had a spare rosette and thoght to sew it to the bar..or risk losing it...( they are quite small and easily lost, one would imagine) Anyway...if its a good price...snap it up! Regards Paul

Hi Bill, thanks for your reply. The cross has the same type of catch that you mention. the stamping is not as clear as the one you have pictured...very hard to see this one....(needed a magnifying glass....) the hinge is also further down the arm...( alarm bells=Floch) BUT...i am going to stay away... The Gut instinct is always a good thing to rely on... especially with the TR fakes available these days... Kind regards Paul

Hello Gents, I have the opportunity to pick up a L15 marked EK1 My Question is the marking...i was led to beleive that the LDO marked their crosses with a forward slash like this...L/15 this one i have looked at...looks good except for this marking...it has just L15... i tried to do a search here...but the search engine will not work when i put in L15 or L/15 I browsed thru the thread topics and found that L/15 is for the Firm of Otto Schinkel and there was a thread on 'Floch made L15's. it does look like one of these....it is of three peice construction and looks good in this respect. Another concern is the pin...the catch is of the crude cut out style...and the makers stamping has made a heavy imprint in the pin so that it has a pimple on the back side from too much force being used to punch the stamp. the pin is the classic 'Coke bottle' style. the vendor has had the cross verified by a so called Expert....but my gut instinct tells me it is a floch! Sorry but no pics in hand... thanking you in advance regards Paul

Yes Stogieman, You are quite correct. We have discussed this bar before on WAF. It has surfaced again the buyer obviously trying to get rid of it now he has found out that its a made up bar. I just wanted to get the Gents thinking...and discussing it again...just to sharpen the mind and to show the Gents here, what is out there so they can be aware and not get burnt by this sort of crap. By the way the seller is asking $325NZD for it...might be worth this for parts.... Kind regards Paul

Hi Chris, yeah..i spotted them and burst out laughing...i mean "really'! How can a HK be before a Freidrich August cross? and why is the austrian commemorative medal up there?? not to mention the FAM silver and Bronze...way down the line...hee hee These two are just far too easy to spot... Cheers Paul

Hi chris, That is a Beautiful bar in superb condition...AND with makers tag! I think we should pin a Thread that shows these maker tags and gives us an example of the different manufacturing styles of each maker...so we can identify the bars that are not maker tagged... and yes as RR says...wonder why there is no Hindenberg....??? Now you need a nice case to display this in! Cheers Paul
