I have not posted much lately so I thought it was time to share a new piece. This is from Saturday. I was thinking that it may be one of the third type of EK2. No documents so no proof. The bar is nice and tight and does not appear to be messed with. My only question is the two LS medals. Is this possible? This one has just a little wear to it the way I like it. Thanks, Chet

Gentlemen, Thank you all for the help. I have very few British pieces so I am a little unfamiliar. My one group is to an RFC man that came from the army and I found his card so I thought that most RFC/RAF guys were transfers. Paul - I looked up the medal you mention and I wish it had been there also! Next round of beer is on me. Perce - thanks for the extra info. How researchable are RAF singles? Brian - I was just searching names and saw a third class air mechanic by chance and put it together. Chers guys

Gentlemen, I know this is supposed to be easy but I need some help. I have a BWM named 97089.2.A.M.J.KELLY. R.A.F. I bought this "out in the wild" with nothing to refer to. I never know the abbreviations and for me this could have meant Air Marshall. I now think this is 2nd class Air Mechanic J. Kelly. I put this into the search page for the index cards and I do not get a name and service number match. Kelly brings up 82,000+ names so that is no help. What am I doing wrong? There were three possible matches under air mechanic Kelly but the service numbers were wrong and no others were listed when I looked at the details. Thanks, Chet

Gentlemen, This is a new badge in my collection and information on these is a little scare, at least in my reference pile. I have looked at Detlevs book and this piece differs from the Juncker shown by a bit. I had originally thought this to be an unmarked Junker but with the differences I am not sure. This piece has a wider uncovered hinge not like other Juncker pieces. Also, there is less detail to the crown. There is a noticeable brass colored section on the edge of the badge where I imagine two pieces were joined. The extra boulder on the mountain to the right seems odd to me. According to the seller, this was blessed by Detlev after an in hand inspection. There seems to be the same type of badge on Emedals right now with a Detlev document. My question is - does everyone agree this is a pre 1945 item? I can not find much about them and would greatly appreciate any help or input. I can still return this if I need to. Thanks, Chet

This was named at one point according to the owner that had it before the auction. I had a chance to buy this bar but was short of funds due to other purchases out of the collection. The owner had forgotten the name but claimed that it was written down some where. I am afraid that is all gone now. Great bar!!

Gentlemen, Thank you for the nice comments. I was very happy when I turned this one over. I have seen a couple in pictures but this was the first to be in my hands. I probably passed 20 other BWBs at the show and never even checked. The reference to Meybauer is from markings on the EK1's. http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=20316&hl=meybauer The second cross in this link will show the same device with PM stamped in it. I am not sure that these were exclusively used by Meybauer. Could someone else have patened these and sold them to anyone that wanted one? There is no marking on my badge that I can find. If there is documentation linking this number to PM then that changes things. Thanks, Chet
