    1. Finally, I believe these are Prussian Oberst boards as the little threads look black. i can not find the cypher. He seems to have been promoted. Is the white infantry or guard? These things are a confusing field to try and work with for me. Thanks for your help.
    2. This pair I would guess are forrestry or hunting related. I would even guess post WW1. They are green with silver stripes.
    3. I think these are Wurtemburg but the shape really throws me. I am guessing these are pre WW1. They are slip on type boards.
    4. OK - I can not find the information that I am looking for so I would appreciate your help. These are pretty easy I think - Prussian leutnant in the flying service. Does the grey underneath just match a grey uniform or does it link these to a specific occupation like WW2 boards?
    5. Gentlemen, I have come into a few shoulder boards from a local estate and I am trying to ID them and it seems tricky to me. I have looked at the Kaisers Bunker but I still am lost. Is there a good source on the web to find information? I have never bothered to get any of these and they have not interested me much at shows but I "found" these so I picked them up. I have pictures and I will post them when I give up. I learn best by beating my head against the wall. Is there a list of all of the little chingadaries under the crown? I think two are from Prussia but I get lost after that.
    6. I had to find the box with the old collection in it. The photo from Ulsterman reminded me of a bar from the early days. I love the big swords! You do not see these very often. Chet

    8. Heiko, I think that is a different case than the one I mentioned so that makes three cases so far.
    9. Jason has the right idea. Not a big flashy bar but to a man who was there. What could he tell us? @Wild Card - I have seen a few of these over the years. I always meant to get one but just never did. This one came up and I thought it was time. The pattern on the top of the case is unique. If I remember correctly there was an even nicer version of the case with the medal name on it. Stogieman should have pictures if memory serves. Chet
    10. I found these in a box as I was trying again to get organized. I have a feeling these are parts bars as there are no two ribbons the same. Am I correct and do these have any value at all?
    11. It has been pretty quiet lately. I thought since we are all saving our money for presents and not buying much rare or expensive stuff we could have a common stuff thread. I have a nice item in the works but until then:
    12. A medal bar that nearly matches this ribbon bar is owned by Marc Garlasco/Flak88. The only difference is that his has the 1870/71 KDM with a few bars on it. It is very nice! I was assuming this is the 1914 EK2 as there is no KDM on the bar.
    13. I would love to see the medal bar to go with it - there would be some nice enamel especially on the end! There is one bow like this posted in new ribbon bar article by Rick and the bar was owned by a member here. I was surprised to find something like this. The price was very reasonable.
    14. I have not been buying many ribbon bars lately but I found three that were interesting. The first one I am not 100% sure on. It is UV negative and well made but rare stuff attracts the fakers.
    15. Tom, Thanks for those photos! The hardware is an exact match right down to the off center nut.
    16. I have looked under magnification and I do not see a seam where two pieces were joined. I will look again. The odd thing is that the metal showing through looks darker in color that the brass on the cross. I just assumed there was some sort of plating left. The hardware that Eric posted is an exact match. Nice piece by the way! I realize that these could be later pieces and if they are 57 era pieces I would expect to see them for sale into the 60's. I would ask that anyone that has a Sedlatzek marked item to please post it as I have seen several different marks and maybe there is another clue there.
    17. Now, there is no picture of the back of the cross in the catalog to see if it is one or two pieces. I feel that one piece crosses were being manufactured during the TR period and that this is one of them. I will be interested to see if anyone has a grouping with one in it to see how the crosses compare. I do agree that there are versions of this with the 1957 style pins and I would not buy one of those - or did I?
