What's the award under the EK1? -
Well, I have read somewhere that the Austrians returned to the WW1 era uniforms at some point in the 20-30s. I'm not sure if the color was pike gray or field gray or both. Is the uniform cut the same at the ww1 uniforms or different? I haven't found any research material to help in this area.

How can one tell the difference between an Empire Field tunic and a Republic Field tunic? They look the same to me. The only difference I see is on Artillery tunics the button on the strap is different.

Rick, Thanks for the reply. With the territories changing hands I would think there would be reluctance of some to serve in other armies or for government to accept soldiers changing loyalties. Phleps came to my mind as well. He has a vast array of awards in the photos of him wearing the uniform of a W-SS general. Does anyone have photos of Phleps wearing Austrian uniform or Romanian uniform?

Why would Romanians serve in the Austria-Hungarian army in WW1? The Romanians were the enemy of the Central Powers. Another question; Why would Romania allow officer's who served in the A-H Army to join the Romanian Army after the war?

Here a nice Austrian Tunic I have. All decorations are also real. I created the thread in the wrong forum long ago when I first became somewhat active. http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=1313...mp;#entry205038 I must say, finding the cap that goes with this tunic is HARD! Maybe, it's impossible to find the cap.

Can anyone post photos of Austrian officer's wearing breast badges on the right side? My general's tunic has loops for a breast badge but what would fit. A Turkish War Medal may be correct but my loops are for a vertical pin arrangement. I'm not sure a Turkish Star would fit.

Well, I guess this means a lot of EKIs are not original. I never thought of these awards this way but I guess it makes sense. Most people don't want non issue GMVK, HHO, etc.
