I wanted to start some research about soviet parade daggers (Land-, Navy- and Air-Force dagger only) In most cases on one side of the blade is the producer (ИМЗ, ZIK and Bulat) and the year of the production (1945 - 1991) On the other side is a number. Is the number related to the dagger produced in this year or in total ? And is there a correlation between the numbers of the three daggers or they a seperatly counted? Due to wearing regulations Navy daggers are most common one, than Land-Forces and AirForce daggers are the rarest ones. best regards and thanks Andreas

The serial numbers look not so bad. Why is one of the serial number so weak, as the piece was heavily cleaned ??? regards Andreas -

Soviet Soviet ribbon "collection"
Alfred replied to IrishGunner's topic in USSR: Soviet Orders, Medals & Decorations
The bar looks okay to me. The two bigger ribbons are most likely added by the veteran himself. The first yellow / black ribbon is the ribbon for victory over Germany and the second one on the bar is for the jubilee medal 25 years Victory over Germany. As there is no official ribbon the veterans used sometimes the ribbon for Victory over Germany. Here are two examples with older plastic coverd ribbons. On one suspension you find two of the Victory over Germany ribbons and on the other bar the last ribbon is the 25 years over victory medal (yellow - black) best regards Andreas -
Soviet Smersh Captain Tseplyayev
Alfred replied to Ferdinand's topic in USSR: Soviet Orders, Medals & Decorations
In the period February-March the operational personnel of the group under his personal command unmasked three German intelligence agents, five traitors and betrayers towards the motherland, and an anti-Soviet element, and brought them before the military tribunal Nice citation. "If you read these citations you can come to the conclusion the whole Red Army was filtrated by german spy´s." best regards Andreas -

Soviet Nikolai Ivanovich Shuverov
Alfred replied to RedMaestro's topic in USSR: Soviet Orders, Medals & Decorations
I looked after his name and he has most likely no military awards till beginning 1943. As he has a second class OGPW-1985, he has no wartime 1st or 2nd class OGPW, but he could have a late Red Star, Bravery Medal or military merit medal. But it´s a nice group , you do not see Oktober Revolution awards so often in a group, mostly separate sold. best regards Andreas -
Fake Order of the Badge of Honor

I do not like this one. The mint stamp looks wrong, the T-shirt of the man is rounded and not square as it is on original pieces. I have strong doubts. best regards Andreas -

Dave, the picture of the mint mark is not very clear. Is the mint mark straight, curved up ... how long 8 mm 9 mm or 10 mm. Here you can compare the mint mark http://www.soviet-screwbacks.com/ Possible an MMD production in 1944 V2 best regards Andreas -
