    1. Dear Gentlemen, Order of Liberation (解放勲章 / 解放勋章 / Jiěfàng Xūnzhāng) 解放勋章 - 维基百科,自由的百科全书 (wikipedia.org) " Liberation Order, Class 3 " I don't think "class" is the appropriate word, grade / level / degree is more in the spirit of the CCP. Yours sincerely, No one

    6. Dear Gentlemen, " The description - "Special Cravat" vs. "Cravat" and "Special Rosette" vs "Rosette" - suggests the possibility that the Third Class and Fourth Class might have been split into two sub-classes. " No sub-classes exist. The Chinese names for the 9 classes: Wáng Zhèngtíng 王正廷 was awarded the 2nd class #40 October 20th, 1936. The 3rd class #143 was awarded to 郎瓊白瑪敦朱 "Láng Gióng Bái Mǎ Dūn Zhū" October 7th, 1937. No record of a 3rd class #181. Yours sincerely, No one
    7. Dear Glennc, The 4th class #30 was awarded to a "西維居斯" (xī wéi jū sī) phonetic for Civijus(?), May 5th, 1936. The 5th class #30 was awarded to a "李維士" (Lǐ wéi shì, this one is easy!) Lewis, May 5th, 1936. Yours sincerely, No one

    11. Dear Trooper_D, " It is nice to have a postcard in pristine condition but so much more interesting when there is writing on the other side that might provide some historical context, isn't it!? " Yes, it is, indeed. But we can only give what we have. Yours sincerely, No one
    12. Dear Kriegsmarine Admiral, " So, would the 5th class normally be awarded to someone with Colonel or Captain (Navy) rank? " I don't know. Although I have the lists of awardees and dates in Chinese, I don't have any for November 18, 1937. Some names, phonetically, sound German: Bescherman / Battenbach / Weilter / Retzman etc. The color of the name matches the date. Here are the dates: -4th class: 1-1-1937 / 19-1-1937 / 26-3-1937 / 5-5-1937 / 1-6-1937 / 10-10-1937 -5th class: 1-1-1937 / 26-3-1937 / 2-4-1937 / 5-5-1937 / 1-6-1937 / 23-8-1937 / 10-10-1937 Do you have the award document or any document? Yours sincerely, No one
    13. Dear Kriegsmarine Admiral, If I may, it's " 采玉勲章 Order of Brilliant Jade". This one "采玉大勳章" is another order: Order of Brilliant Jade - Wikipedia , it's a bit confusing. As for the colors description, the first one is the central one, then towards the hedges 1 / 2-1-2 / 3-2-1-2-3. I haven't seen a 4th class ribbon, just the description. Yours sincerely, No one

    18. Dear Gentlemen, This envelope is both intriguing and mysterious. Although it appears to be a FDC, it's likely not. Here is the envelope: An illustration depicts the French flag being dragged down on a map of Indochina, the Japanese flag fluttering, and a Japanese soldier advancing. In the lower left corner, in Vietnamese, "Pháp thất thủ Đông Dương Ngày 9-3-1945 Do Nhật đảo chánh (France fell in Indochina March 9, 1945 due to a Japanese coup d'état) ". Illustrations, letters, and French stamps are marked with the 'day mark', which represents the date of the coup. The format is FDC (first day cover), but the stamps that were affixed were issued prior to that. Some thoughts: Why are there neither French or Japanese, only Vietnamese and more intriguing English? Predicting a date for a coup d'état in the case of FDC is not credible. It is certain that the French or the Japanese are not involved. Propaganda (OSS sponsored) by the Vietminh? And so on ... Yours sincerely, No one
    19. Dear Gentlemen, Another interesting picture, this one of the troupes of the Eight-Nation Alliance: The pictures are from ファイル:Troops of the Eight nations alliance 1900.jpg - Wikipedia and Eight-Nation Alliance - Wikipedia The same colorized by Julius Jääskeläinen: According to the comments, the third soldier on the left is either Russian or Australian, and the third one on the right is either Austro-Hungarian or Russian. Any thoughts? Another picture: There is this article also: The Rifles of the Eight Nation Alliance - Buffalo Bill Center of the West Yours sincerely, No one
