This bird exists. Some resources to help... From: https://www.queencitymilitaria.com/product-page/wwii-german-luftwaffe-forestry-hauptmann-collar-tab "This is an original WWII German Luftwaffe (air force) Forestry collar tab. In excellent condition overall with silver bullion piping and minimal wear or discoloration. Based on the cloth being the same color on the obverse and reverse of this tab, I do not believe it has faded from it's original color. While initially, Forestry was it's own division of the German administration, after Goring was appointed as Reichsforst und JΓ€germeister, (National Forestry and Hunting Master), in 1933, he subdivided the forestery administration into 4 branches, General, Private, Heer and Luftwaffe. Each of the four main departments of the Forestry Service were responsible for forested areas and wild life that fell under their direct control and with the Army Forestry Service that primarily consisted of training and exercise areas." https://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/398836-luftwaffe-forestry-bayonet/ https://www.forestryofthethirdreich.eu/forestry-rank-insignia https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ranks_and_insignia_of_the_German_Forest_Service_(Nazi_Germany) http://www.oakleafmilitaria.com/1011u5.html (Your eagle in the first post) https://www.dearoldblighty.com/en-GB/all-items/ww2-luftwaffe-forestry-service-breast-eagle-/prod_22214 (Two images below) https://www.ww2collectorsworld.com/cloth-insignia/k3whjts0iycxxy6puxlegzc4iy9ua8

Tony... Like you haven't read this before... (I hate being redundant). The insignia in your first post are all fakes. However, they're decent fakes. I myself acquired some Estonian Division Waffen-αα collar patches made for re-enactors/film extras by a firm in the U.S.A. no longer in business. They themselves are sought-after collectors' items, although on the lower end and to a lesser extent. That sack's interesting. Looks like a swastika superimposed on a bearded, mitred bishop's head. I don't know what it is, or what it's supposed to be. It's still cool. I'd hang on to it.

Why does this keep coming up repetitively in my "unread content"? (Just the last post before mine).

Here's a word from a prolific seller of German insignia "mrirwin1 (2234)" 100% positive feedback): "Disclaimer: Buyers are required to make every attempt to determine the authenticity of the item prior to purchase. While we strive to provide accurate information, we understand that opinions on authenticity can vary. Therefore, we offer a no-hassle, 30-day inspection and free return policy." RZM M1/13
ChrisKelly replied to Kleinepanzerfaust's topic in Germany: Third Reich: Organisational Membership Badges & Tinnies
Just an aside... There are some very minor scuff marks on the front, but most important, no chips, no fissure cracks and no broken/missing enamel. Love that stylized "RZM" on the reverse. Definitely a badge for the showcase. -

Heer Fake Army Parachutist Badges
ChrisKelly replied to PKeating's topic in Wehrmacht Medals, Decorations & Awards
This is just my opinion... I look askance at German Second World War badges which have "personal details" engraved on the reverse. This was generally not a common practice during that period, and not widely seen in the First World War as well. Some of the fakes with details engraved on the reverse are well manufactured, so based on what I've seen in general with the German Second World War badges, I'd say it's likely not genuine. In auction/dealer lots like this one, it's common to see an original private purchase case, or even an original manufacturer's carton, with a fake badge, especially since the Heer FalschirmjΓ€gerabzeichen is one of the rarer, pricier badges. Nice looking badge, though. What is that "thing" on the reverse near the pin catch... ["Little monkey fingers have been at work," perhaps?]
