    1. Pierre73, Indeed! Many thanks for posting these, they are all superb, and I hope you have many more to show! Regards, Philip.S
    2. Greg, those are four beautiful medals! congratulations! I know very little about them, other than the number is for the awardees flight hours. Maybe someone else can help you with the specifics! Philip.S
    3. Greg, A wonderful example, congratulations! Philip.S
    4. Gentlemen, After dusting off some of my shelf, i thought that my Sztahanovista's case seemed oddly heavy, compared to other, similar ones. A while ago, a forum member showed a document that they had found under the felt inlay of the case of an excellent worker medal. You, can, I'm sure, guess what I did; I gently pulled out the felt (It wasn't glued in, and I didn't break anything, I promise!), and, lo and behold, There was indeed something lying in there! I took it out, and, seeing the letters: "S" "Z" and "T" (I assume), I hoped it was a document, just a folded over one, which would explain the abnormal weight! Alas, upon turning it over, I was met with blank card. It appears to be a cut up piece of a book cover If anyone has an idea as to what the poor, sliced, book once was, please do tell me! I the meantime, has anyone else had such encounters with mysterious (or not so) stowaways lurking in your cases? Many Thanks, Philip.S
    5. Another two! This time some more uncommon variations. Sadly these two are not cased, but they are serial numbered, though I haven't photographed that as I'm painfully low on storage! Interestingly, the blue-bannered example, is, on the part hanging from the chains, taller, almost by a whole millimetre than the red bannered one. How odd! (My explanation was terrible; what I mean is the measurement from the highest point of the crest to the backplate, not from top to bottom of the star!) Kind regards, Philip.S
    6. Gentlemen, I present my first of the public security medals! It is a beautiful award, this example being from the Rakosi era, and cased! I imagine the missing ribbon is attached to the awardees uniform somewhere! Kind Regards, Philip.S
    7. This one came yesterday, A simple type II Excellent worker, cased, and with mini. The case looks very early to me, though I could, of course, be wrong. (the shine of the star has held up excellently, although it looks quite the opposite in my photo😄.) Another thing I came across recently, was an example, identical to the one Hunyadi posted a few pages back, missing the ' from the "ó", I was wondering just how rare that variant is, as ive only ever seen it once, on a different example, online. Regards, Philip.S
    8. Greg That medal is ! super condition, and a super medal! Regards, Philip.S
    9. Greg, Another great piece, a rather impressive rack actually! Regards, Philip.S
    10. Greg, That's a magnificent bar, even if not originally so. I'm rather impressed, and surprised, at the size of the higher decorations! I wasn't aware of that! Regards, Philip.S
    11. Another one - arrived today! I think this is the correct place to post it, or at least I haven't found anywhere better! This is the "Excellent Innovator" medal, in silver. comparing it to other examples I've seen, I would say it is of earlier manufacture, as the enamel -especially on the banner- is of higher quality. The case is odd, as it appears to be mounted upside-down, with the inlays on the wrong side of the case. Furthermore, on the scuff plate it reads "Fogy ár? 810", which read as "selling price: 810". (the ink is in a shade of purple, and stamped, the camera does not pick this up, however) As the text is aged looking, I assume the award and case were perhaps amongst those which were sold off by the mint itself? Regards, Philip.S
    12. Thank you, both, for your kind words! Regards, Philip.S
    13. Gentlemen, This one arrived today. Though the case is not in the best of conditions, it is still nice to have it! I think I can give up hope of ever seeing the other grades, given that they were never awarded! Regards, Philip.S
    14. Though they are undoubtedly very good illustrations, I'm inclined to agree with Paddywhack, I don't think NFTs would have much success, in the same way people tend not to collect reproduction medals, as it simply does not have the history behind it, that an original medal does. Again, these are quite superb illustrations, I'm just not sure if NFTs are the way to utilise them. Just my opinion! Regards, Philip.S
    15. Gentlemen, I recently completed my set of ?1966? awards.(with correct ribbons!) Now to find the Rakosi variants.... Regards, Philip.S
    16. Good Morning! This site: https://www.philipp-militaria.com would claim it is for "Winterhilfswerk" "Winterhilfswerk, KWHW Gau Weser-Ems 1939/40 Rathaus Osnabrück" I, of course, cannot verify that, however it is the only source i could find XD Regards, Philip.S
    17. Greg, Very nice additions! I believe the silver class is the scarcest, with only 5290 awarded! The 1848 commemorative medal is wonderful, as well! (2930 of these awarded, i think) I look forward to seeing your Hungarian collection grow even further! Regards. Philip.S
    18. Claudius, Sorry for the late reply, I heard it was an innovative method of camouflage for night attacks! In all seriousness, though, i was told by the family member who owns this photo to do so.....I myself am not certain on the reason, but if that is their wish...🤷‍♂️ Regards, Philip.S
    19. Greg, here's an online site's translation: (card on the left didn't translate, sorry) this didn't translate well either, but i guess its.....ok😂? the other documents appear to have the same text, so i'll leave them out! Regards, and apologies for the poor translations, Philip.S
    20. Gentlemen, What I believe to be the very last version of the base excellent worker award. The suspended star is completely flat, with no raising for the crest, and no indents on the reverse. The small chain links are slightly compressed, so they are not perfectly round, like most other excellent workers, and the ?resin work? Is reminiscent of the cheaper DDR badges. The case is fully plastic, with a sponge inlay, covered in a dark red felt, with a small red loop, to pick it up with. The lid inlay is white felt. It is not unlike other full plastic cases, like the Kivalo munkaert medal I have posted before, but it is much more square, and is, in general, larger. The "hinge" is merely thinner plastic. Regards, Philip.S
    21. Steve, Many thanks for the superb answer! Good to get it clarified! Thanks for the images, as well, they are most useful. Many thanks, and kind regards, Philip.S
    22. Steve, Many thanks for your answer, it's most informative, however, as befits the red banner of labour, would I be right in saying there were both military and civilian versions? I have none to show or give proof, but I have it in my head that the military version had the Hungarian national colours in triangles along the border of the flag, whereas the civilian one was plain. Do I have the right idea?😁 Also, it's nice to see the first variation of the order of labour in your first Image! Regards, Philip.S
    23. Greg, Good question! I can't give you a completely correct answer, but I will provide you with my best speculations! Of course, members of part time security organisations, like the workers militia, would, of course, receive the award duly as corresponds to their "day job". Members of the police, or armed forces, I'm really not sure on. It's a possibility that they earned the award before joining, or after leaving, their relative armed forces or security organisations. I can also, well imagine, that members of those organisations with more or less a desk job, may have received the award, however you'd have to confirm that with someone else! In general, I doubt that the award was given to serving members of the armed forces, or security organisations, often, if at all. I hope you find my thoughts interesting, Regards, Philip.S
    24. Greg, Very nice additions to your collection! Just the other day I came across the 500, and 3500 para medals, respectively, in a gift shop, of all places!😆 I regret not buying them, of course, but at least I took pictures! I will post them in another thread in the near future! Regards, Philip.s
    25. Greg, Many thanks for posting! that is quite the collection! i envy you perhaps a little... 😂Do you have any plans to continue with the HuPR collection? Many thanks, good luck in further HuPR collecting😁, and kind regards, Philip.S
