    1. Hi, When I said "now I have a few more" I meaned belgian medals. I´ve just have one medal of this kind, and no box or packet. By the way mine is exactly like yours. Regards, Dolfek.
    2. Received it today in the post. The patina looks far nicer in hand. Thanks very to everyone for their help. Regards, Dolfek.
    3. Did you really bought it for 60 euros? Lucky you!!! I hope you did. It´s a really nice piece, with plenty of details. Regards, Dolfek.
    4. It´s true. In Spain you can still buy a spanish made Iron cross 2nd class for example, among other III Reich awards. Made for the Blue Div. veterans. Of course, the quality is terrible. Can´t compare with the real thing. Regards, Dolfek.
    5. Yes, a low number indeed. All awards I see these days are numbered over 22,000. Regards, Dolfek.
    6. All stars I´ve seen are made of cloth. It could be possible that the soviets made some metal stars, like they made yugoslavian awards too, at the end of the war. Regards, Dolfek.
    7. I finally got mine after sometime looking for one of these medals. Regards, Dolfek.
    8. That was the very first Belgian medal I bought, about 20 years ago Now, I have a few more. Regards, Dolfek.
    9. Thanks a lot for the information. I didn´t know that. I only heared about receiveing the Médaille militaire when wounded in action. Best regards, Dolfek.
    10. Thanks very much. Nice collection you have. So the medal in the mini group you have there, is for WW2 volunteers, aswell as for WW1? So, it´s some kind of medal in use until the creation of the official volunteers medals from both World Wars. Thanks a lot for sharing your collection. Best regards, Dolfek.
    11. I´ve found a perfect explanation for the medal, it´s an unofficial award. Take a look at this web "omsa.org". Full details are given. http://www.omsa.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=283&sid=2a00339b4e5d7bfba085c5d04dd4e2e9 I still don´t know the average price, so if someone knows it, please, let me know. Thanks. Best regards, Dolfek.
    12. Thanks very much for your help and information. It looks alike, but has different design The one I posted doesn´t have the word "patrie". The Cross for WW1 Volunteer Combatants was created in the early 1950´s if I well remember, together with the WW2 and resistance volunteer medals. The Commemorative Medal of the War of 1914 - 1918 was instituted 23rd June 1920, the same day as the medal in question in this topic. And a bar was issued for volunteers. So there are two medals (one of them only a bar) created the same day to denote volunteer service? I still think it must be some kind of unofficial medal, as I´ve never seen it before on any medal group. Thanks very much. Best regards, Dolfek.
    13. Hello, I´ve been offered this medal, but I´ve never seen it before. It seems to be an unofficial WW1 volunteers medal. The reverse is plain. That´s all I have, a single picture. Anyone knows what this medal is for, and how much would it costs?, or should I offer? Thanks very much for your help. Best regards, Dolfek.
    14. The navy version! Ahhh, maybe one day....
    15. Thanks very much for your quick replay. About the dragon being different colour, I didn´t realise until you mentioned it. Yes, it could be a replacement. Once again, thanks very much. Best regards, Dolfek.
    16. Hello everyone, I´m after an Indochina campaign medal, and I would like to know your expert opinion about this one. I know modern examples have less details and have a much lighter colour, almost a gold finish. So, my question is: Is this medal a period manufactured piece, from the early 1950´s (even though you could purchase it later), but made on the late days of the Indochina conflict? The picture is not very good, but I hope it shows my answer. Thanks very much in advance. Best regards, Dolfek.
    17. That´s sound really good. A nice piece of work for anyone interested in spanish decorations. Regards, Dolfek.
    18. Thanks very much for your time, and for explaining it so very well. I´m new to french medals and I´m quite happy to have such medal (advanced collectors) as one of my fisrt purchases. Thanks a lot. Best regards, Dolfek.
    19. Thanks very much for your quick replay. I really apprecite it. Veteran, if I understood right by (very straighforward period), you mean it´s a period medal, and I mean by that, a 1885 issue? I also found on the web a nice description about the medal and the suspension ring, there it is: "Original strikings have an olive shaped suspension ring fixing , on later issues this is ball shaped. Several private manufacturers also produced this medal these are generally lacking the designer's signature and Monnaie mark." Once again, thank you very much. Best regards, Dolfek.
    20. Hello everyone, I´ve been offered this medal for 50 euros, looks good to me, even the ribbon, but I´ve seen it on the web for much, much more money. Is it period original?, and I´m I been offered a great deal? Thanks in advance. Best regards, Dolfek.
