    1. Things are getting more and more interesting about the medal bar. The following is from another forum: @Daniel Krause Is it possible that my bar also belonged to von Mechow?
    2. The battle clasps were donated on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Franco-Prussian victory. Thus, this hypothesis would date the medal to somewhere between late 1895 and 1897.
    3. Ι would like your opinion on this. Should I proceed with the restoration? Medals can be found. But what about the missing ribbon? Should I try to sew one or leave it as it is?
    4. I was searching the site for something else, and came across its close relative. 😃 https://gmic.co.uk/topic/56871-1870-and-earlier-bars-show-yours33/?do=findComment&comment=527674
    5. For the Saxon officers cross, check the following: Dienstauszeichnung 25 Jahre für Offiziere (Service Award 25 Years for Officers)
    6. I have had this medal for quite some time. It came as is, without the medals and without the 5th place ribbon. 1. 1870 Iron Cross 2nd Class 2. Red Eagle Order (very faded) 3. Prussian Crown Order 4. 25 Years Long Service Cross 5. (missing) 6. 1866 War Cross My guess for the 5th is either the 1864 Düppel Cross/Alsen Cross or the 1870-71 KDM.
    7. Perhaps he discovered a hidden stock from that period... 🙂
    8. at least he states that they are collectors / museum copies.
    9. I saw this, but something bothers me about the precedence of the medals
    10. Thank you Glenn! But then, why only a DA3? Shouldn't he have been awarded a higher rank?
    11. I have the following two documents of August Hermann Krakau, Garnison VerwaltungsInspektor with "Bezirk der Intendantur des IX. Armeekorps". Crown Order 4th Class Red Eagle Order 4th Class He first appears in the 1883 Rank List as Kasernen Inspektor (Barracks Inspector), and his last entry is in the 1894 Rank List as Garrison Verwaltungsinspektor (Administrative Garrison Inspector). In the 1908 Almanac, his entry shows him as Garrison Verwaltungsinspektor a.D., with RAO4, KO4, DA3 and 1897 Centenary Medal: Is it possible for someone who appears to have around 11 years of active service to be awarded with KO4 and RAO4?
    12. The attached crown can determine the difference between the cross of the Order and the medal.
    13. Fantastic group, and unfortunately outside of my budget.
    14. According to this page, it is allowed: https://www.ebay.com/help/buying/bidding/bid-sniping?id=4224
    15. The medallion looks fine and I don't see any problems with the construction.
