    1. Very interesting! So it looks like we have two different brass variations..........one more to go! Micha
    2. "Ugly and not believable" I agree with the ugly.....and I'm not sure what I've got here. No official piece at all! Either a try to jump on the train and make some money with the private manufacturing of iron crosses in the 20/30ies or just someone made a copy in brass. No idea...but anyway,it has it's place in the cabinet of the "strange" ones. Micha
    3. This one is strange-one piece, but complete in brass! The eye ring is just a piece of wire in a hole, the cross itself looks like one of the poor manufactured ones you can always find....just in brass.I'm sure the "core" is pebbled...... Micha
    4. While I was in Vienna the long wanted 2nd core type dropped in. The Ribbon(16mm9 in sewn onto the ribbon ring(I'm not sure, but it looks like a replacement to me).The obverse of both have clearly different crowns, but the reverse is identical. For me both crosses are coming from the same manufacturer. The example on the right is stamped "Silber" on the ribbon ring. Micha
    5. So-the only confirmed " flat Deumer" EKs next to the both variations you've named are the magnetic and non magnetic clamshells? Micha
    6. That Deumer pinback I would put into the 20/30ies.My oppinion. For sure a private purchase. Micha
    7. Hmmm....these cases are brown. With a golden iron cross imprinted on the top. All the red/reddish/oxblood/burgundsomething cases are different(metal hinge) and either a sticker(silver/black) EK or an imprinted silver/white EK on the top) But anyway-small pics but for sure a "WS" in a really nice(awarded) case.FDull score Micha
    8. Sorry for beeing late here. The first cross is a modern fake. It showed up not so long ago-and that kind of pin you can find at various copies of imperial awards. It's the core that gives the thumb down. Sorry, but just one one fake more on the list. The 2nd cross is a "Deumer".Well known from the clamshell examples, here with a pin.Can befound magnetic and with non magnetic core(Mike, have you ever seen a flat one from this variation?) Micha
    9. I disagree-these screwback style could be also wartime(private purchased). Normally I'm very sceptical about markings like this.....but I would add it to my collecting without problems. Micha
    10. A "classic" set-when I remember right there's also a case with a white push button? I know it sounds strange but I don't have a single cased 2nd class iron cross in my collection........ Micha
    11. Yes,I've seen not too many of them the last few years! A "must have" for every collection-full score! Micha
    12. That's a beautiful one! And hard to upgrade! From the quality of this cross I would put it to the wartime private purchased ones. Micha
    13. Nice?? That KMST looks absolutely minty! From what I can see on this picture it has got 100% paint on the core......I would add it to my collection in a second! Absolutely fantastic! Micha
    14. Mike, you are right. The pin is somehow yellowish and if you look from a different angle at the hinge you can see a gap.My old cam can't catch that correctly, sorry. So this one has to leave me again... Micha
    15. Ok,but for a proper display I need two of each....... That could give me a bit of a problem I need more money!!! Micha
    16. This one I bought by mistake-I was looking for a magnetic 2nd class Deumer and this is what I got.....an unmarked L/54 imperial.
    17. I'm in the mood to post more EKs-here's an LDO one. Typical Deschler L/10,heavy,ugly......not my collecting field but if I can't find things to close the gaps in my collection Iwill go for the '39 imperial EKs.
    18. Yes.....that happened a lot here.Especially with 2rd Reich stuff. Documents, pictures ect....But it's really bad luck when ultra rare things like this Ek are getting damaged or destroyed. But no way to repair it(and I wouldn't try it).The result would have been always a "put together".So it will stay here until I can't get an upgrade.
    19. I know it from the seller....waste sorting! He found it together with a screwback silver WB(also K.M.) marked.Someone has simply thrown them away!!
    20. It's the really hard to get "stamped" maker mark variation.....of course I will keep it! Micha
