    1. Here's a victim of a went wrong rescue....you remember the slaughtered medal bar a while ago? A friend of mine tried to buy the whole thing but stopped because of the prices! And now it's here...... Micha
    2. I've bought this one as an upgrade-unfortunately it's still not perfect.......but as long as I can't find one with a perfect painted core this one will stay in my collection. Micha
    3. And I've done the burning test......see the black bubble? Pure polyester thread. That's the way the Club and his additional accounts are working!
    4. Well, the money is lost and so I wanted to look behind the red curtain-This is how it looks! You can see the rest of the white original thread. The iron cross ribbon ...two different ones(1914)! But what could have been in the first place original? Micha
    5. Well, have a look at the tail feathers-they are different! I think there's no chance that the medallion is the same. That brings in another thought......could it be that the whole thing was split into bits and pieces? A "respawn" with some "spareparts" to give it a different look? Micha
    6. Hi Mike, I wouldn't have done it if the weight difference in hand wouldn't have been so obviously! This is the only heavy one I've seen so far-so many KMST Variations to go...and just minimum chances to fill the gaps in the collection Micha
    7. Here's a heavy one-have a look at the different pin.The regular pinback with the pin lock has a weight of 14g.The heavy variation 18g!
    8. They are my favourite! I don't like medal bars with the Hindenburg cross,so I will stay in this collection field Micha
    9. Mike, I know you have all the KMST major variations -do you have a maker marked heavy pinback? Or the stamped ones(not the relief ones)? It looks like these crosses become an own collecting field... Micha
    10. Next to the KMST(they are no beauties but very interesting) this is my favourite maker(of course both core variations)! Now you need the "800" and the "Silber" Micha
    11. Something new in my collection-in hand it looks much better than at this pics.So what is so interesting for me that I had to buy another KMST pinback? Right, the catch doesn't have the secure mechanism.....not often seen before and so I had to take it.....simply because of the catch. Micha
    12. I bought this in bits and pieces and had to add the 1864 medal, the 1866 cross and the 1897 medal. Of course I can't say which 1866 cross has been mounted originally, but when I look at this little bar I like it.The 1866 ribbon is the one without black line between the white and the yellow......unfortunately the pin is gone, but you can't always win! Micha
    13. If it looks like this one......I know there's also a 2nd variation(but I can't remember if it's just the stamping or the core) but unfortunately I don't have some pics of it at my notebook. Micha
    14. You mean enamel in the sense of "real"enamel? Sorry-I must pass.I've got a few variations of the '14 Ek in my collection, but no real enamel EK.Nearly impossible to get and bloody expensive if one would show up... Micha
    15. A really nice piece in perfect condition. But for sure it isn't enamelled! Some of the "KO" crosses where painted with a thick gloss paint that looks like enamel. You can find that on both classes.Sorry guys-no enamel here....but a wonderful EK! Micha
    16. Have a look here:Looks good ,eh? The first picture is just a "gallery" pic and not a part of the auction......And the rest is pure rubbish(have a look at the 1st class EKs...) And yes,it's him-our well known suspect who has used pics from catalogues..... Micha http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...em=110195683650
    17. The case is everything but not common-this is one of the things I would like to have in hand to judge it.From the pics it looks OK to me and who knows how many private purchased cases and their variations are out there... Micha
