    1. One of the nicest AWS I've ever seen-variation with thin pin. Micha
    2. Here is another "20"-Core and frame are not matching the "20" EK1. It's also different to the one that Rick has posted a while ago.the cross itself looks good and the maker mark didn't give me a red flag at all.But it's no "Zimmermann" hardware! What do you think? Micha
    3. To reanimate this older thread-I bought the best parts of a good '39 EK2 collection(about 20 EKs) and one of them is a "20". When I'm back home today I will take some photos(I really need a new scanner...) Micha
    4. I've seen this mutants,too-Not from the usual suspects, that makes it a little more dangerous for a beginning collector.....! But this pieces are so bad that they are no really danger(I hope)! Micha
    5. For me it looks like an "N".......but it doesn't match to my example! So it looks like we have here another maker with more than one core! Micha
    6. Steve,have a look here: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=2172&hl=grossmann Micha
    7. I don't collect them but they are really nice.Maybe one nice day......... Micha
    8. A "textbook" CD800 with the standing hinge.Really a nice find! Micha
    9. Another hole in my collection is filled-this nice EK with an oval washer is another long wanted-not a bargain but I couldn't let it go....sorry Mike! Micha
    10. To tell the truth-I don't like them at all......even if they are wartime produced there will be always a bad taste left! But it's the same with Steinhauer&L?ck,Deumer......These Souvals are in my collection because there are doubtless wartime produced pieces. So it's simple-I want to have all EKs/variations and so these Souvals are a part of my collection. Micha
    11. To dark to make some pics now-give me time until tomorrow and I will post a comparison of the hardwareDeumer,Godet and Zimmermann) Micha
    12. I thought this discussion was finished with the EK1 that was sold by D.Niemann.....same hardware like the "11" marked EKs but stamped L/11.About the cases-I know two sets coming directly from the families of the awarded soldiers where the case are stamped with L11(both cases are from the same type).I agree that one maker not have used necessarily the same core for both classes(thinking about maker marked "8" and "20" EK2s),but as the hardware of the "11" marked crosses is complete Deumer except the pin I would vote for Deumer. Micha
    13. That all happened step by step-I've started to collect military stuff when I was 15,then I bought my first motorbike and sold some stuff...started again and sold it......but you can say the beginning of my EK collection was 10 years ago. Micha
    14. @Naoki-the '39 EKs are all maker marked except the always unmarked ones(Schinkel EK1/EK2,Clamshell EKs and a non magnetic EK2).The '14 EKs-I think I've got 90% of all maker marked EK1 and a good amount of EK2.Also a lot of 1st class with silver content stamps and of course many different unmarked variations. Micha
    15. That it's how it looks like at the moment.....The '39 section complete on easels, the '14er only the 1st class is on stands.About 80 EK2 are lying loose in the display. That gives me the problem where to display the rest.I think I will lock away the rest of Prussia and Oldenburg to get one display only for imperial 2nd....And while I'm typing this my last two Ebay purchases has dropped in(together with a beautyful upgrade of a'39 Meybauer pinback, maker marked of course with the old style pin). Micha
    16. @Steve-yes,it's the IKEA display! I had planned it complete different, the '39 placed by makers and groups-the same with the '14 EKs.But I never realized that I've got so many floating around here. Not enough space at all,I think everything that isn't an iron cross has to disappear..... Micha
